Halfway between Catania and Syracuse, in Sicily’s south-eastern corner, there is a private residential estate that has restricted access to the Baia dei Sospiri, or Bay of Sighs. Sighs, because the bay’s crystal clear waters, well-maintained lawns, pinned down by palm trees, and general air of exclusivity, will doubtless make you sigh with pleasure.
Taking its name from this bay, just one and a half kilometres away, lies our spacious holiday home, having access through an electric gate. Villa Baia dei Sospiri is a modern-style family home located in the midst of countryside, surrounded by olive groves and rolling Sicilian hills.
It has lots of clean lines, cool airy spaces, and, despite its proximity to the sea, an above-ground swimming pool.

The ancient fishing village of Brucoli is about 5 kilometres away. For more bustle, as well as essential shops like chemists, banks etc., the town of Augusta is nearby - its old centre is detached from the mainland, on its own islet, and surrounded by two harbours. You can’t miss Frederick II’s castle on the causeway or indeed the very best in Sicilian sea food in its numerous restaurants.
The house is divided into two independent parts, each of which can house six people - a main, two floor, part, and a single ground floor annex, linked together by a cool outside eating area with ping pong table. Ample covered private parking. Outside shower.
Delightful barbeque area outside kitchen. Above ground swimming pool measuring 6m x 3m x 1m deep.
