This pleasant holiday apartment is ideally located for a relaxing beach holiday just a few minutes walk across a footbridge to Calahonda Beach with a good range of facilities for shopping and dining out nearby. Suitable for couples, families or a small group of friends, it is has a small selection of restaurant shops within a very short walk, and a wider range available 1.5km away in the resort centre. Calahonda also has a Wednesday market offering fresh local produce and handicrafts. There are several excellent golf courses nearby including the Miraflores resort which also has a bowling green. The picturesque port of Cabopino, within a 10 minute drive of the villa, has a good selection of restaurants serving international and regional dishes plus a further golf course, whilst Malaga is 35 minutes away by car.

Playa Calahonda, approached by a steep pathway, is known as the fishermen’s beach and is small and sheltered with a mix of soft sand and pebbles. There is a beachside restaurant open during summer months with sunbeds and parasols for hire. The atmosphere here is very laid back, making it a great place for sunbathing or just meeting up with friends for a relaxing drink by the sea.

The chic and cosmopolitan city of Marbella is around a 20 minute drive from the villa and is surrounded by spectacular mountain and coastal scenery. The area has a fantastic choice of sun drenched beaches and a huge range of sporting activities on offer including tennis, sailing and water sports. The old town has plenty of art galleries, museums, shops and restaurants. The city’s stunning ‘Orange Square’ has a 15th century fountain flanked by orange trees and stately buildings including the Town Hall. Take an evening stroll along the ‘Avenida del Mar’, a coastal promenade which is beautifully landscaped and lined with bars and smart restaurants.

A short drive to the east is Mijas, a beautiful village nestling in the mountains above Fuengirola and Mijas Costa with spectacular views of the sea. The village has rows of whitewashed houses adorned with brightly coloured geraniums and has a charming laid back atmosphere. The narrow streets are crammed with tiny craft shops and boutiques – you can explore the village by ‘burro’ which is the local donkey taxi service!
Fuengirola has a large water park with a wave pool, kamikaze slide and plenty of water chutes and facilities for children. Parklandia has a maze, trampoline and a mini race track as well as swings and slides, and electric train, bouncy castle and more. There are also five miles of Blue Flag award winning sandy beaches and a wide promenade dotted with palms and flowers.

Approach

The apartment is located on the first floor of a whitewashed Spanish-style apartment complex with a large shared pool and lovely palm-shaded gardens a few minutes walk from the beach.

Ground Floor

There is an open-plan living area which is decorated in white with rugs on the tiled floor. There is a large comfortable sofa, a coffee table and a side table and lamp at one end of the room, with a TV units housing the flat screen television which offers some satellite channels and a DVD player. Patio doors open to The dining area has a white circular table with four chairs and there is a breakfast bar area in front of the compact kitchen, fitted with white units and well-equipped with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave.

There are two bedrooms on the same level as the living accommodation. The light and airy master bedroom has a double bed and an en suite bathroom with a bath and overbath shower, WC, washbasin and bidet. The second bedroom has twin beds, fitted wardrobes and the use of a separate full bathroom.

Outside

The apartment has a lovely south-facing terrace which overlooks the pool garden and has views of the Mediterranean – a great place for your early morning cup of coffee or pre-dinner drink.

The apartment complex has a large free-form pool which has a central bridge and a wide paved border. The well-maintained gardens are criss-crossed with paths and stepping stones and fringed with mature palm trees providing some welcome natural shade. There are grassy areas for sunbathing and play.
