Location
C’an Tomeu is located in the northern part of the island, in the peaceful, open countryside of Pollensa, close to the beach and bay of Puerto Pollensa.
The beach at Puerto Pollensa, 3.6km away has warm, shallow waters, ideal for small children. It offers a selection of water sports and facilities such as beachside cafes and sunbeds/parasols. However, there are a number of small coves in the surrounding area for those who want more peace and seclusion.
The bay of Pollensa is home to an array of luxury yachts, as well as colourful local fishing boats. In the evening, take a stroll along the Pine Walk promenade, a pedestrian walkway overhung by palms and fragrant pines. This stretches from the marina to the beach, past luxury villas and apartments.
Well worth a visit is the old town of Pollensa, just 3km away, its narrow streets dating back to the 18th Century. On Sunday mornings, a market fills the Placa Major a square with stalls of fresh fruit, flowers and local crafts.
Surrounding and sheltering the town are the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains, providing unforgettable views - and for the more adventurous opportunities for walking and hiking.
Within the Pollensa region is the Albufereta Nature Reserve, covering 150 hectares with canals, lakes and reed beds, a protected home to a wide variety of birds. This peaceful location is about 11km away.
There are a number of attractions as you travel inland. Golf courses, tennis courts and horse riding facilities are all within 12km.

In Detail
Ground Floor
The spacious C’an Tomeu villa is situated within open countryside and enjoys lovely views over the surrounding green hills to the distant Tramuntana Mountains. As you enter this stone-clad villa through an imposing porchway at the front of the house, you come into the entrance hall.
Ground Floor
The entrance hall leads to the kitchen on the left and the elegant living/dining room ahead. Throughout the villa, the walls are plain white, there are wooden beams across the ceilings and the floors are tiled - feeling cool underfoot.
The cosy sitting area features a large sofa, a few chairs and a coffee table around a large open fireplace. There are three shelves on the fireplace wall, and the lowest holds the satellite television. A wide set of curtained, patio doors open on to the shaded terrace.
Behind the sitting area is an elegant, solid dark wood dining table and six chairs. From the table there are views through the large glass patio doors to the layered mountain scenery beyond. Two ornate metal lights hang down from the ceiling, adding a touch of glamour.
The walls of the spacious, separate kitchen have patterned tiles, and there are bright curtains at the windows creating a homely feel. As well as a range of wooden units, there is a large breakfast table with six chairs. The kitchen has a dishwasher, and a large free-standing fridge/freezer. On the right of the kitchen is a shower room, by the back door, this could be useful for washing off the sand when you return from a trip to the beach.
A narrow external corridor separates this end of the house from a small outbuilding containing a utility room with a washing machine.
A corridor to the left of the entrance hall takes you to the two bedrooms. The large master bedroom has a wooden framed double bed, circular bedside tables, wardrobe and a dressing table with chair and mirror. It also has an en-suite bathroom with full bathtub. Doors open onto the far end of the shady terrace, where you can relax late at night, listening to the sound of cicadas.
The second bedroom is furnished with two twin beds and is conveniently placed opposite a family bathroom
Outside
Square stone pillars support the roof that shades the large terrace along the side of the house. Doors open to here from the living area and the master bedroom. This shaded area is perfect for relaxing on a sunlounger away from the midday sun. To the rear of the villa is a smaller, open terrace and a garden dining table with a parasol and four chairs – the perfect place to eat after cooking up a storm on the barbecue. The large private pool has a roman end with integral steps, leading you gently into the blue water. On either side are green lawns surrounded by leafy shrubs and small beds of red and yellow flowers.

"Very comfortable villa, well appointed and everything we could have asked for. Often, when renting, there is feeling that the owner has done just enough to be acceptable. In this case the owners had thought of and supplied everything one might have wanted. The description on the website was very accurate - also rare!"
"Peace, quiet, beaches and its nowhere near the Magaluf crowd!"
