Casa Amelia offers two-storey accommodation. The living accommodation and two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are on the ground floor, with a third bedroom and en suite shower room on the first floor. Air conditioning/heating and pool heating are available for a supplement.

Ground Floor

The front entrance leads to an elegantly furnished hallway with stairs to the first floor. The living room is light and spacious and has three cream leather sofas arranged around a square glass-topped coffee table in the centre. There is a wall-mounted flat screen television with some satellite channels and a DVD player. This lovely room has a curved exterior wall with a triple set of patio doors opening to a covered terrace overlooking the garden. A further set of glass paned double doors lead to an attractive dining room which has a white wooden circular dining table and seating for six. Both rooms are decorated in an understated style with pale tiled floors and walls.

There is a door to the contemporary galley-style kitchen from the entrance hall and also an open archway leading conveniently from the dining area. The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine as well as a hob, oven and fridge/freezer and there is a breakfast bar at one end.

Both ground floor bedrooms open from the entrance hall. The light and airy twin room benefits from an en suite bathroom and has patio door to the garden. The double is similarly furnished but has an en suite shower room and patio doors to the pool terrace.

First Floor

There is one double bedroom upstairs with an en suite shower room on the first floor, with patio doors leading to a balcony with distant sea views.

Outside

The villa has a gated entrance and is set amidst lovely landscaped gardens with trees, shrubs and palms providing privacy and shade. There is a lawned area and a large paved terrace around the swimming pool which has a Roman end with integral steps. Adjacent to the house is a covered terrace area and beyond the pool are steps leading to a pergola dining terrace and barbecue. There is also a convenient car port.

Location

Casa Amelia is a recently built luxury villa in the prestigious resort of Presa da Moura and enjoys an unrivalled cliff top position. Situated on the outskirts of Carvoeiro, the resort has a mini-market and restaurant, both within walking distance of the villa, whilst the nearest beach is a short drive away in the town centre. Pestana Golf is a luxury golf and leisure resort in open countryside between the picturesque fishing village of Ferrgudo and Praia do Carvoeiro. There are two courses, the 18-hole championship Pinta course and the double 9-hole Gramacho course. Nearby Ferragudo is a sleepy and unspoilt fishing village where you can wander the narrow cobbled streets and watch locals grilling sardines over charcoal in a time honoured fashion, whilst fishermen mend their nets in readiness for their next fishing trip.
The popular resort of Carvoeiro, just 3km away also has its origins as a quiet fishing village but has steadily grown in size over the years and now has a flourishing tourist trade. The streets are lined with cafes, bars and restaurants but nightlife tends to be a laid back family affair, although there are a couple of clubs and bars which stay open until late. A stroll around the older streets of the town will take you to quaint shops offering local crafts for sale and market stalls selling fresh local goods. There is a small but pleasant sandy beach where you can hire a sun-lounger and umbrella or try one of a range of water sports on offer in summer.

The Algarve offers a vast array of world-class golf courses, many of which are in the Carvoeiro area. There are also plenty of opportunities to try other leisure activities such as horse-riding, tennis, water sports, and even wine-tasting. Nearby attractions for children include the Aqualand Water Park at Alcantarilha, around 15km away, the Slide and Splash water park near Lagoa and the Zoomarine park at Guia to the north of Albufeira.

The region has a good choice of sandy beaches and the coastline is rugged and dramatic with little beaches nestled in coves at the foot of towering cliffs. Boat excursions are a good way to see the incredible rock formations and grottoes at Algar Seco or you can drive to Portimao which has several excursions departing regularly from the harbour. You can try big game fishing or simply take a relaxing sea voyage in search of dolphins, although there are no guarantees!
