The prestigious resort of Quinta do Lago is characterised by luxury villas in lush gardens surrounded by umbrella pines. The resort is flanked by a long sandy beach and the Rio Formosa nature reserve - Europe’s longest wooden bridge leads to the long, dune-backed beach which stretches all the way to Vale do Lobo. .

The tranquil old town of Faro, regional capital of the Algarve is around 20km away, where you can explore the maze of narrow pedestrian streets and alleyways or view the wonderful Renaissance style cathedral in the central town square. Portugal is famous for its traditional handicrafts, pottery and hand-painted tiles if you are looking for some authentic holiday souvenirs.
Nearby family attractions include the ‘Aqua Show’ water park, a 15 minute drive away and the Zoo-Marine sea life centre theme park at Guia near Albufeira, approximately 25km away.
