Casa Chloe is situated in the quiet residential area close to Alvor, a quaint fishing village which is about a ten minute drive. A blossoming resort in recent years, this small town has a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops, and is well known for its local fresh fish restaurants. There is also a lovely beach here at Alvor. If you are prepared for a slightly longer drive, Meia Praia is a beautiful beach west along the coast, and is a 4km stretch of fine white sand, between Algor and Lagos.

Nearby resort of Lagos and Ferragudo have further attractions. The unspoilt fishing villages of Praia da Luz, Salema and Burgau are all within a 20 minute drive. The commercial town of Portimao is close by - Continente Shopping is on the way to Praia da Rocha. It has several shops, a hypermarket, food hall and cinema complex.

Those with children will enjoy a visit to water parks. Slide and Splash is located at Estobar, east of Lagoa and well signposted on the EN125, and Aqualand is a half hour drive, but is Europe’s biggest open air water park. There are tours which operate out of Portimao if you fancy a trip to spot the dolphins. Omega Wildlife Conservations Park, near Monchique is a half hour drive, where you can see animals in their natural habitat.

Those who enjoy a round of golf will be pleased to know that the nearest golf course is only 5km away. Penina course was originally paddy fields and is the grandfather of courses in the Algarve, designed by Henry Cotton.

This area of the Algarve played an important part in the Age of Discovery - Henry the Navigator led the 15th century rounding of Africa out of Lagos, and Magellan and Vasco da Gama studied at Sagres. In the far western corner, the dramatic coastline features sheer cliffs. Cape Sao Vicente is mainland Europe’s most southwesterly point, and where ancient mariners believed the world ended. Set back from the coast, the Serra de Monchique hides the delightful town of Monchique set in the hills.

Casa Chloe has a charming covered entrance, surrounded by flowering plants and pretty shrubs.

Ground Floor

Casa Chloe has a spacious living/dining room with two sofas grouped around a coffee table and facing the room’s television and DVD. In the corner of this pleasant area is an open fireplace with a white mantel and tapered chimney breast, and the décor is pale and gives a feeling of light and space. At the other end of the room, there is a rectangular dining table with six chairs, which are conveniently situated close to the open plan kitchen. This is fully equipped with fitted cupboards, hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Patio doors from this main room open onto the pool terrace.

The villa has three bedrooms. The master has a double bed, and then there is a family suite consisting of a double bedroom and an en suite bathroom, with a large open archway leading into the twin bedroom. This is a great set-up for families with young children that they wish to keep close. There is a separate family bathroom.

Outside

The villa has a pleasant well tended garden with a large rectangular pool at the back. The pool is large and rectangular and is reached by a metal ladder. The garden has a small area of lawn with a built in barbecue area. There is also a poolside shower, and the pool area is kept secure and private by a hedge and fencing.
