Casa Fleur is set on the peaceful private estate of Quinta dos Alamos, nestling amongst modern white-washed villas and in the shade of almond and carob trees. There are no restaurants and bars here, so relax and enjoy the quiet.

All your holiday requirements are met in the pretty village of Guia, which is within walking distance. Here there is a choice of around 20 restaurants, including some very good ones selling the local speciality of piri-piri chicken, but you will also find an international selection from French cuisine to pasta or pizza. At Guia you will find shops, banks, bakeries, a daily market and the local pharmacy.

For those needing a wider selection of choice, the Algarve Shopping centre is nearby and is a vast mall laid out on two levels with around a hundred shops (including Zara, The Body Shop and Mango), a hypermarket, restaurants, cinemas (with films shown in English) and a bowling alley.

A short drive will lead you to some splendid beaches. Praia de Gale is 6km away and is a long beach with rocks, coves and cliff-top walks. There is a good selection of water sports here, and a number of beachside restaurants and bars. A little further is Sao Raphael, and the beaches and bubbling nightlife of Albufeira are only a 10 minute drive away. The town has a colourful marina and the old town.

For those interested in playing a few holes in the Algarve sunshine, golf courses are local and plentiful. The closest to Quinta dos Alamos is Salgados (5km) and Balaia golf is 12km but there are several a little further along the coast at Vilamoura, and Vale do Lobo.

For those with children, Aqualand is at Alcantarilha, about a 10 minute drive, and Zoomarine is just on the outskirts of Guia – a place where the over eights can swim with dolphins and the whole family can enjoy parrot shows. A little further afield is Krazyworld, at Algoz (20 minutes) which has 2 mini golf courses as well as a small zoo.

Ground Floor

As you walk into Casa Fleur you will find a spacious and bright living and dining area which is sparsely yet comfortably furnished in a modern style. The living area has sofas and an armchair gathered around a small coffee table and facing the room’s wood burning stove. There is a satellite television, which has a selection of channels, and on the traditional tiled floor is a patterned rug. At the other end of this L-shaped room is the oval dining table accompanied by 6 chairs. There is also a sideboard for storage and the room’s patio doors lead from this area out onto the pool terrace, giving easy access to the house. The galley kitchen is roomy and bright with modern units and plenty of work-surface area for preparing food. There is a hob/oven with hood, microwave and large fridge/freezer as well as a washing machine and dishwasher to make your self catering holiday as convenient as possible. There is also a separate shower room on this level.

First Floor

On the upper level are the house’s bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed with fitted wardrobes and bedside cabinets with side-lights. This room has a lovely view of the pool from a small balcony and also has its own en-suite bathroom with bath, wc and wash basin. The other two bedrooms have twin beds and share the bathroom on the same level. A convenient feature of this house is its air-conditioning, which is available in the living area, as well as two of the bedrooms. The third bedroom has a cool air fan.

Outside

Outside Casa Fleur there is a private rectangular pool set into terraces which is close to the house, making it quick and easy to pop in for a drink out of the heat of the day. There is an outdoor dining set available for you to make use of the villa’s barbecue and dine outdoors, as well as sun beds and umbrellas to assist you in soaking up some rays. The house is linked to another townhouse to one side, and detached at the other, with fencing and leafy palm trees ensuring your privacy. Native spiky plants in pots finish a pleasant environment for some private pool time with the family.

Beach towels and hairdrier included. Cot and highchair available. There is air conditioning available in the living room and two of the bedrooms. The third bedroom has a fan. Maid service is included 3 times per week, and there is weekly towel and linen change. Pool heating is available (extra charge incurred).
