Casa Gina offers one storey accommodation within one wing of a detached villa (unoccupied by the owners during clients’ holidays). There is also a fully equipped studio for up to two people available for an extra charge

Ground Floor

Casa Gina has a pleasant open plan living area with good facilities including television with some satellite channels and a CD player. There are comfortable sofas, a sideboard and coffee table, with patio doors at one end opening onto the terrace.

The kitchen has fitted units and is well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine as well as a hob, oven and fridge/freezer. Along one wall is a dining table and chairs to seat four, and also a dining table and chairs with seating for four people.

The villa’s two bedrooms are furnished in a rustic style with bright rugs on the tiled floors and dark wood furniture. One of the rooms has a double bed and the other has twin beds, both sharing a separate full bathroom.

For larger parties, or for families with older teenagers or grandparents who would like some independence during their stay, there is the option of renting a fully equipped studio sleeping a further two people next to the pool.

Outside

Outside steps lead down to the lovely rectangular pool with integral corner steps surrounded by sun terracing. There is a lawned area at the front of the property, dotted with palms and pretty flowering shrubs with a children’s swing set and slide. A barbecue area with outdoor sink is a great place to cook supper before dining on the covered terrace by the pool.

Additional Information

The studio apartment which can sleep a further 2 people, is set at the side of the pool area and contains a living/dining/kitchen with sofa bed, TV and dishwasher plus a separate shower room. This studio is never let separately but can be booked in conjunction with the main house for an extra supplement. Please call our friendly sales team for details on 0845 408 1704. Location

Casa Gina is situated in a quiet residential area just a few minutes drive from the historic town of Lagos and only 4km away from the beautiful white sands of Praia da Luz.

Lagos is a historic maritime city, Vasco da Gama having set sail from here in 1499. The main square, Praca da Republica is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee and watch the world go by, and there is a good selection of restaurants and shops along its pedestrianised main street. The city has a working harbour where fisherman still bring in their hauls and also a trendy marina bustling with yachts and cruisers. Street entertainers add to the lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere. The town buzzes with life at night, with countless bars offering speciality cocktails. If you are looking for holiday souvenirs, there are numerous boutiques selling wickerwork, jewellery and leather goods. There are plenty of sites of historic interest including the governor’s castle and the Church of St. Sebastian, and on a less savoury note, the city was home to some of the earliest slave markets.

The beautiful bay at Praia da Luz is considered to be one of the Algarve’s finest beaches with its fine white sands and warm turquoise water. Popular with families because of its gently sloping nature, it is well served by a few beachside cafes and a variety of water sports are on offer in summer. Its colourful sandstone cliffs provide beautiful cliff-top walks and at one end are the locally renowned ‘rocha negra’ or black rocks; evidence of ancient volcanic activity. Meia Praia is an expanse of white sand stretching from Lagos to Alvor, lined with beach bars and restaurants and popular with surfers despite strong ocean currents.

Families with children may enjoy a day out at Lagos Zoo which is set in lovely landscaped gardens with exotic animals and plants or the Slide and Splash water park near Lagoa. Golfing enthusiasts are spoilt for choice in the Algarve but the nearest course is the eighteen hole Palmares Golf at Lagos which has splendid views over the coast.
