This luxury villa with pool is quietly situated in the popular Monte Golf area in the prestigious resort of Quinta do Lago. Consisting of a number of separate residential areas, dotted with umbrella pines and flanked by a long sandy beach and the Rio Formosa nature reserve, Quinta do Lago is renowned for its luxury villas and superb golf courses. Europe’s longest wooden bridge leads to the long, dune-backed beach which stretches all the way to Vale do Lobo. For lovers of the great outdoors, there are nature trails around the reserve and a riding centre catering for all standards from beginner to expert.

Quinta do Lago has four excellent golf courses whilst nearby Vale do Lobo has two of its own, the Royal and Ocean, just a few kilometres away. The resort also has its own shopping centre, Quinta Shopping, with 10,000 sq metres of shops offering a wide range of products with top brand names. There are plenty of high quality restaurants catering for all tastes and some vibrant nightclubs where you can dance until the early hours. Nearby Almancil has exclusive boutiques and jewellers as well as essentials such as banks, chemists and supermarkets.

The tranquil old town of Faro, regional capital of the Algarve is around 20km away, where you can explore the maze of narrow pedestrian streets and alleyways or view the wonderful Renaissance style cathedral in the central town square. Portugal is famous for its traditional handicrafts, pottery and hand-painted tiles if you are looking for some authentic holiday souvenirs.

Nearby family attractions include the ‘Aqua Show’ water park, a 15 minute drive away and the Zoo-Marine sea life centre theme park at Guia near Albufeira, approximately 25km away. The inland town of Loulé, 20 minutes away by car, has a craft market every Saturday where the traditional, local craftsmen display their wares.

Approach

There are impressive pillars at the entrance to the villa, with a cobbled driveway and off-road parking. Steps lead up to the front door.

Ground Floor

There is an elegant living room with sliding patio doors framed by yellow curtains opening to a delightful veranda overlooking the pool. Comfortable sofas are arranged around the feature fireplace and there is a television with some satellite channels, a DVD player and CD player. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and is furnished with a lovely oval-shaped table with a glass top and seating for eight.

The fully fitted kitchen is open plan with a breakfast area and appliances including a hob, oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

There are two spacious twin bedrooms on this floor, one with a television and both with en suite bathrooms.

First Floor

An elegant stone staircase leads to the master bedroom which has a double bed and access to a first floor terrace with views over the pool. There is a further twin room, also with patio doors to the terrace. Both rooms have a television, dressing room and en suite bathroom with a bath/overbath shower, WC and washbasin.

Basement

The basement houses a laundry room which is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside

The gardens are landscaped with trees, palms and pretty trailing bougainvillea. There is a good-sized lawn and a choice of covered and open terraces on both sides of the villa. The swimming pool is situated at the front of the villa.

The 14m x 7m private pool is surrounded by a large terrace with dining furniture, sun-loungers and a built-in barbecue at one end. The pool itself has integral steps and an attractive dolphin motif at it centre. Four steps lead up from the pool terrace to the delightful covered veranda beside the villa’s living room.

Next to the double garage is a pleasant, air-conditioned games room which is well-equipped with a television, table tennis, pool table and twin sofa beds. There is also an adjacent shower room, allowing this room to be used as an alternative (but not extra) bedroom.
