Approach

Casa Paula enjoys a quiet, rural setting on large grounds with no immediate neighbours. It is a pretty villa, with whitewashed walls, shuttered windows, and terracotta roof tiles. Elegant pillars support the roof over the shaded terrace. A little path leads from the driveway to the front door.

Ground Floor

The front door opens into the hallway. On the right, one step down, is a spacious living room with satellite TV, DVD player, video and CD player. From here, patio doors open onto the shaded terrace at the front of the house. Throw these open any time to enjoy a gentle, cooling breeze throughout the villa. From the living room a hallway leads to the fully-equipped and very spacious kitchen with dining area, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and breakfast table.

The villa also has an extra living room, with comfortable sofabed, satellite TV, DVD player, video player, and CD stereo. This room is the perfect place to keep the kids out of the midday sun, or to allow teens to enjoy some independence.

Walking to the end of the hallway, you come to the bedrooms. The master double bedroom has built-in wardrobes and an en suite bathroom. The other double bedroom and two twin bedrooms share the use of two separate bathrooms.

Outside

Casa Paula stands in large, landscaped gardens with plenty of lawn space, mature shrubs, and shady trees. Stepping out onto the shaded terrace, you can see out over the gardens and neighbouring countryside. The terrace has a barbeque and garden furniture, perfect for family meals cooked fresh on the grill. There is also table tennis to guarantee some memorable family contests – will the kids beat the parents? Just a few steps from here is the spacious pool terrace, with plenty of places to stretch out in the warm sunshine. The pool itself is very private, and features steps leading gently into the water for easy access. Measuring 11m by 6m, the pool offers plenty of room for the whole family to swim and splash around together. The pool can be heated during cooler months for a supplementary charge.

Location

Casa Paula is located 2km from the beach resort of Armacao de Pera. A short drive brings you to the many amenities and beautiful beach. The sandy stretch of beach here is ideal for long walks, and there is plenty of room for everyone - it can get quite busy in high season. The beachfront does have several high-rise apartments, the upside of which is the vast array of cafes, shops and restaurants to serve all your needs. And should you wish to leave the peace of the villa, it has some lively nightlife.
About 2km away is the nearest golf course of Salgados, an 18-hole course; one of the newest in the Algarve. It has many lakes and most of the holes are influenced by water hazards.

Porches, 2km away, is an unspoilt and picturesque Algarvian village, well-known for its traditional pottery. The pace of life is slow and there are a few friendly cafes, restaurants and shops to serve your essential needs.

About 14km away is the large village of Carvoeiro; once a quiet fishing village that has steadily grown throughout the years to incorporate the flourishing tourist trade. Its streets are lined with shops, bars and restaurants and market stalls selling fresh, local goods. Its sandy beach is very popular and offers water sports in high season, but is quite small and can become crowded. Although now a bustling place in summer, the essence of the sleepy village still remains in the local fisherman who sail the seas and bring home their catches, sorting them in the harbour.

• Aqualand Water Park – Located about in Alcantarilha, this water park has plenty of slides and flumes to scream your way down and rapids where you can float along in rubber rings. Buses run from Armacao de Pera.
• ZooMarine – an ocean theme park set amongst lakes and gardens with exhibitions, shows and rides to entertain the whole family. Has a large range of marine animals from sea lions and dolphins to turtles and exotic birds.
• Krazy World – a family attractions site with a small zoo that has live animal shows throughout the summer and aims to inspire children about conservation. There is also a petting zoo (with camels and llamas!), pony rides and mini-golf so there’s enough to keep the whole family occupied for a day.
