A stroll out from the villa will bring you into the Port of Alcudia which offers a wide choice of restaurants and shopping opportunities. The fast boat to Menorca departs from daily from here if you would like to visit another Balearic Island during your holiday. The lovely fine sandy beach also stretches away from one side of the Port area. The 7km stretch of curving white sand is lined with thatched beach huts and sun beds with an array of beachside bars and restaurants to choose from. There is plenty of family based entertainment until late evening, but the bars and nightclubs stay open long into the night for those who wish to party until the early hours. There is a water park here and numerous other activities to suit all ages. The pleasant seaside town of Puerto Pollensa is a ten minute drive away.
Alcudia Old Town is the oldest city in Mallorca and is still surrounded by walls that date from the 14th century. Explore the Roman ruins, wander the maze of narrow streets lined with traditional small shops and cafes, or browse the fascinating Sunday market before enjoying lunch in one of the town’s excellent restaurants.
The beaches along the Pollensa Bay shoreline have white sand shelving gently into the warm blue waters of the Mediterranean, with numerous activities on offer and a good choice of water sports. If you wish to travel a little further afield, Pollensa Old Town, around 11km inland also has Roman origins and is worth a visit – the main square, Placa Major, is a lovely place to linger for lunch or evening drinks. Puerto Pollensa, a little way north around the bay has a great beach with good facilities and you can join a boat excursion here which will head off up the coast towards the Formentor Peninsular, taking in some of the more secluded coves along the way. Evening entertainment is more low key here than at Puerto Alcudia – take an evening stroll along the famous ‘Pine Walk’,a charming, leafy promenade lined with restaurants and cafes.
