Casa Pia is in the Sesmarias area of Carvoeiro, approximately 2.5km from the village centre with its shops, restaurants and pretty beach. Carvoeiro itself remains a bustling fishing village but has become increasingly popular as a holiday destination in recent years. By the harbour, you can still watch the local fisherman sort their catches and this may tempt you to try some freshly cooked local seafood at one of the resort's good selection of restaurants. Take a stroll around the town, stopping at one of the many pavement bars and cafes, or visit the market stalls selling handicrafts, ceramics and souvenirs in the cobbled old part of town.

The coastline in this area is quite dramatic and rugged but you will find beautiful sandy beaches nestling in intimate coves backed by high cliffs. Centianes beach is certainly very popular within the local area, Carvalho is known as 'Smugglers' Beach' and Marinha is extremely scenic, its clear blue waters attracting snorkellers and swimmers. Some beaches can only be reached by boat and you can take a trip to see the fascinating natural rock formations and grottoes at Algar Seco, to the east of Carvoeiro.

If you enjoy being active on holiday, a range of water sports are available nearby, including windsurfing, catamaran sailing and water ski-ing. The nearest water park is 'Slide and Splash' about 6km away at Lagoa which offers plenty of fun to keep children amused for a day. There are also three golf courses in and around Carvoeiro, and the Carvoeiro tennis club has ten tennis courts for hire, some of which are floodlit.

Ground Floor

Cas Pia is a single storey holiday villa, offering bright and spacious accommodation behind a traditional white washed exterior. The comfortable living/dining area has leather sofas grouped around a fireplace and the room is equipped with a television which has some satellite channels, as well as a CD player. The dining area is furnished with a dining table and seating for six people, and is flooded with light from large windows and patio doors which lead out to the pool terrace.

The modern, well-equipped kitchen is fitted with white units and has the convenience of a washing machine and microwave as well as an oven, hob and fridge/freezer.

Also on this level are the villa's three bedrooms. The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the two remaining twin bedrooms share a separate bathroom with a bath, WC and washbasin. The bedrooms are cool and airy with white walls, tiled floors and full length French windows.

Outside

The mature gardens of Casa Pia are beautifully kept and planted with pretty flowering shrubs. Palm dappled lawned areas offer shade from the Algarve sunshine, or you can relax on a sun-lounger next to the pool before diving into the refreshing water when you need to cool off. The terrace also has a barbecue and outdoor dining furniture.
