Approach

Casa Quinta is a charming villa with nice furnishings, a light and bright atmosphere and pretty gardens. Situated in the peaceful residencia of Quinta dos Alamos, Casa Quinta is only 1km from shops and restaurants. Lanes wind around the white-washed villas of the residencia and up to the small driveway and parking area of this holiday villa. The main wooden front door opens into a spacious entrance hall.

Ground Floor

Casa Quinta is simply decorated with white walls and white tiled floors throughout, making it feel cool and calm even in the summer heat. The bedrooms and living room can also be air-conditioned.

A door opens into the light and bright living/dining room. There is a cosy living area where sofas, armchairs and coffee tables are arranged in front of a corner fireplace. The open fire is set into a white wall where alcoves and shelves create neat storage and also house the satellite TV. Patio doors open out on to the covered terrace overlooking the pool. Behind the sitting area is a round dining table and six chairs.

Double doors lead through to the large, fully-equipped kitchen. Here there is a breakfast bar with bar stools, and a range of units. The worktop has an integral sink and the room is fully-equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, oven/hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and coffee machine.

From the entrance hall, doorways lead to Casa Quinta's three bedrooms. The sunny master bedroom has a double bed, bedside cabinets with small reading lamps, and plenty of storage space. Patio doors open onto the poolside terrace, whilst another doorway opens to the en-suite shower room. A few rugs soften the tiled floor and there are draping curtains at the large glass doors.

The further two bedrooms are furnished in a similar, comfortable way but with twin beds. Adjacent is a separate family bathroom with full bathtub.

Outside

Patio doors open from the living room onto a large shaded veranda overlooking the pool below. A low white encloses this pretty covered terrace, where terracotta pots hold leafy plants and colourful climbers wind around the supporting pillars. There is a garden table and chairs for lazing away the lunchtime hours in the shade. The terrace stretches around to the side of the villa, where a step down takes you to a pretty paved path leading through green lawns. A mature fruit tree creates dappled shade across the grass.

On the other end of the terrace, a small set of steps take you down to the private pool, enclosed in another sun terrace. Around the kidney-shaped poolside there are sunloungers for soaking up the warm Algarve sunshine. The pretty gardens are bordered by low white walls and thick, green hedges and there are many little plants and flower borders scattered about.

  This particular villa was not within walking distance of the town. with a car its not far but if you want to drink and like to wander back then it is a bit far.

  Experience Recommendations:
  Drive in the direction of portimao and take the turn off for carveriero (about 20mins away). there are a number of very nice restaurants here and there are some stunning views. also, spain is not too far away and makes a great day out. its like two holidays in one.

Location

Casa Quinta is located on the secluded residential estate of Quinta dos Alamos; set in the outskirts of Guia. This small residencia features many individual villas with gardens and pools. Whilst the pool enjoys pretty private gardens and pool in a peaceful setting, yet there are neighbours nearby and this may not suit those looking for total seclusion.

Guia is colloquially known as the 'restaurant village' with a range of restaurants offering everything from the famous piri-piri chicken to gourmet French cuisine. It is also home to the popular ZooMarine ocean theme park; set amongst lakes and gardens this park offers a variety of live shows, rides and exhibitions to entertain the whole family. It features a huge range of marine animals from sea lions to turtles and exotic birds. (For a large fee - around £80 - you can also experience the magic of swimming with dolphins but make sure you pre-book). In Guia, you will also find the new 'Algarve Shopping' mall, with a large selection of shops, fast food outlets, cinema screens (English language films) and a ten-pin bowling alley.

Albufeira, 3km away is a sprawling town with plenty to see and something to suit everyone. During the day you can enjoy the sandy stretches of beach or browse the markets where local handicrafts and fresh goods are sold. In the evening, a wide variety of bars, restaurants and clubs fill the streets with people and life; locals sit on the terraces of traditional restaurants, the bars fill up with thirsty punters, and all kinds of music drift across the air. You can also stroll around the newly completed marina in the west and admire the dazzling array of white yachts. Alternatively, you could wander around the Old Town and explore the maze of cobbled streets, past white-washed fishermen's houses.

Many of the beaches have water sports on offer throughout the summer, and there are plenty of golf courses, tennis courts and horse riding facilities found all around the Algarve. The nearest golf course is Salgados, set back from the Gale beach with 18-holes and lots of water hazards.

One of Albufeira's nicest beaches; Praia dos Pescadores or 'fishermens' beach is so named because of the little colourful fishing boats that line the shore here. This sandy beach has only a few steps down to the sand and plenty of parking; it also has a small pier and a beachside caf�. Leading down to the beach is 'The Street of bars' where there is plenty of nightlife to be had.

Nearby attractions for those with children include.

. Slide and Splash - a huge water park with pools, Jacuzzis, slides and rapids that can keep the whole family amused for a day. There are plenty of grassy areas for relaxing and picnicking and because the grounds are so large, it doesn't get too crowded. Located north of the town on the N125, approx 25km away.
