This renovated barn is a Tuscan delight. Built into a hillside, it is on two levels and surrounded by acres of olive groves, beyond which distant misty views - this is a brand new quality property for two couples or a small family.Thirty-five kilometres south-west of Florence, between the Tuscan capital and Siena, we are deep in glorious tranquil countryside. The charming medieval town of Gambassi Terme is a few minutes drive away while the more visited tower-strewn hilltop of San Gimignano is not twenty kilometres away. Back at our house, named after the area in which it finds itself, and renovated from top to bottom in 2008, the accent is on peace and beautiful surroundings. The covered loggia looks out onto a lawned pool area and the whole property is fenced in. Inside the furnishings are a mixture of old and new, but all very tasteful and comfortable.

The town of Gambassi Terme has all the shopping essentials but there will be more choice in the more sizeable Certaldo or San Gimignano. In the winter crystal clear views may be enjoyed over to the distant snow-capped Abetone range of mountains. With the sitting room’s open fireplace this is also a very cosy winter retreat.Behind gates there is ample off-road parking.

The swimming pool measures 8m x 4m x 1.2m in depth. The house is fully air-conditioned and the loggia has a barbecue.
