Montemiccioli is a tiny hilltop hamlet that contains, apart from the ruins of an ancient look-out tower, just a handful of families. This is undoubtedly full immersion in the Tuscan countryside, with San Gimignano (whose towers are visible from this property's scenic terrace), Volterra, Siena and Florence all within easy reach. Spending a week or two here will be world's away from what clients are used to. The accommodation and terrace are located on the first floor for good reason – so that guests can enjoy the superlative views and feel as one with the rural surroundings – and whatever the high temperatures outside, inside is pleasantly cool. All essential shops, banks and chemists can be found in the small village of Cast San Gimignano only three and a half kilometres away or at Volterra about fifteen kilometres away; a 1st century BC Roman theatre is one of many reasons to pay a call on this bustling medieval town.
