The villa is situated in the tranquil village of Lower Macher and has a small selection of restaurants and a local shop within walking distance. It is a short drive from Puerto del Carmen where you will find sandy beaches and a huge range of shopping, dining and leisure facilities. The quaint old town area surrounding the harbour has a lovely laid back feel, with cobbled streets and traditional tapas bars. Fishermen still bring in their catch here and you can sample freshly caught seafood in one of the fish restaurants surrounding the harbour.

Puerto del Carmen is a long narrow resort stretching for 4km along the main coastal road not far from Arrecife, the island’s capital. It has an excellent beach that shelves gently to the sea and is popular with families and water sports enthusiasts, activities on offer including parascending and scuba-diving. Windsurfing is particularly popular on this stretch of the Atlantic coast. The main ‘Avenida’ is a popular spot for nightlife, but during the day has plenty to offer in the way of souvenir shops, amusements, ice cream parlours and restaurants serving both international and local dishes. There is a golf course and water park at Costa Teguise, around 25 minutes away by car.

Shopping is excellent in and around the resort, and international chains such as Zara and Mango can be found here, offering good prices because the goods are tax-free. The souvenir shops tend to be on the promenade, but the Biosfera shopping centre offers a more upmarket selection including duty-free electronics, local arts and crafts and luxury designer clothes and shoes.

Ground Floor

This comfortable holiday villa has a bright and sunny living area, with large turquoise sofas positioned around a coffee table with views across the pool through sliding patio doors. The room has an attractive traditional fireplace and a white tiled floor and is equipped with a satellite television (no card), a DVD player and a music centre. The dining table has seating for six and the well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

The bedrooms are well furnished with pine furniture, two having twin beds and the other having a double. There is one family bathroom with a bath, WC and washbasin and a large separate shower room.

Outside

The rectangular swimming pool is acclimatised during the winter months and is flanked by a paved terrace amply equipped with sun-loungers. From the terrace you have a wonderful panoramic view across the countryside to the Atlantic Ocean shimmering on the horizon. Adjacent to the house is a pleasant covered terrace, furnished with an outdoor dining table and chairs with a barbecue available for al fresco meals by the pool. Other shade is provided by palm trees at the edge of the terrace.
