This beautiful, contemporary-designed villa is on one floor with vaulted ceilings, simple design and a roof terrace above.

Approach

This beautiful and contemporary three-bedroom villa is situated on a quiet hillside just a few hundred metres from Carvoeiro centre. A quiet unmade road leads to the parking area at the front of the villa, and across the gardens to the front entrance.

Ground Floor

The pretty front door has two patterned glass panels and opens into a corridor with thin wooden beams overhead. Stretching to the living room at the far end, there are also two small steps up to the bedroom corridors. The walls are white, the floors are tiled and there is soft lighting – the villa is beautifully decorated in this elegant way throughout.
The light and airy living room has a high ceiling and three large sets of windows and patio doors; flooding the room with natural light. Yet it is still cosy and homely with an open corner fireplace, large l-shaped sofas, soft armchairs and a coffee table. A large built-in unit holds the satellite TV, DVD player and stereo.
A large open archway leads through to the contemporary kitchen. This bright, fresh room has a range of white units with chrome accessories and appliances. It also has a beautiful red granite splashback and worktop – with integral circular sink and ceramic hob. It is fully equipped with a range of integral appliances including an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
An open doorway leads to the simple, elegant dining room with a polished wood dining table and six upholstered wooden chairs.
Villa Serena has three bedrooms. The spacious master bedroom has a double bed, sofa, built-in wardrobes, large glass windows and doors looking out on the garden and an en-suite shower room. This unusual bathroom with toilet and wc has a wet-room design with central drain and a glass roof. There are two shower heads upon a wall covered in pebbles; from here the water cascades to the floor.
The second bedroom also has a double bed and is similarly furnished. The third room is a twin with large built-in wardrobes, bedside cabinet and a single door opening on to a small set of stairs down to the pool terrace – inviting you out for an invigorating early morning swim. These two bedrooms share a separate bathroom with full bathtub.

Outside

The gardens surrounding Villa Serena are bordered by low white walls and mature, neighbouring trees. There are small lawns and some colourful flowering shrubs and plants. The main part of the garden has a large paved sun terrace with a rectangular private pool. The pool has integral steps leading you gently into the water and is partly shaded by a large fir tree. Around the poolside are plenty of sunloungers and parasols for soaking up the sun or relaxing with a good book.
Adjoined to the house in one corner is a covered terrace; partly open to the gardens and with one trellis-screened wall. Doors from the living area open to this shaded area with a table and wicker chairs – an ideal setting for long, lazy lunches.
Stairs lead from the front of the villa up to the roof terrace where there are beautiful views down the hillside towards the dazzling blue sea. What better place to relax with a glass of wine and watch the sunet?

Location

Villa Serena is located on a quiet hillside just a few hundred metres above Carvoeiro centre. An unmade road leads to the villa which is well secluded by the mature trees surrounding it. This beautiful and contemporary villa is the ideal choice for those looking for peace and seclusion close to amenities and beaches.

Carvoeiro was once a sleepy fishing village but has grown steadily throughout the years to incorporate the flourishing tourist trade. It has a small sandy beach where there are water sports on offer in summer, but it can become quite crowded. Its streets are lined with a vast array of cafes, restaurants and shops. Take a stroll away from the beach towards the cobbled streets of the Old Town, and you will find quaint craft shops and market stalls selling local goods.

• Aqualand Water Park – plenty of slides and flumes to scream your way down and lazy rapids where you can float along in rubber rings. About 10km away
