Casa Silena has two storey accommodation with two ground floor bedrooms and a further two upstairs. The villa has a pool and sun terrace at ground level and a first floor balcony.

Ground Floor

Entered via a hallway, the villa’s cool and airy living room has pale floor tiles and white walls. Three modern sofas with part leather upholstery are arranged around a large coffee table which sits on a rug in the corner of the room. The television with some satellite channels and a DVD player are housed in an attractive wooden unit against the wall. At the other side of the room is a rectangular dining table with wooden ladder back chairs for up to eight people. Two sets of patio doors open onto a small covered terrace with railings which has steps leading down to the pool terrace.

The smart shaker-style kitchen opens off the living area and is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave as well as a hob, oven and fridge/freezer. It also has a convenient large breakfast table and chairs.

There is a double bedroom on this floor which is well-furnished and has a large fitted wardrobe with mirrored doors. The twin room has a stylish en suite bathroom fitted with a white suite and benefits from patio doors to the terrace. There is also a separate shower room with a shower, WC and washbasin.

First Floor

The third bedroom has twin beds with patio doors to a covered balcony. With its lovely views to the sea and Portimao, this is a perfect place to enjoy a few quiet moments over an early morning cup of coffee. The double bedroom on this floor has an en suite bathroom and also has access to a balcony.

Location

Casa Silena is situated in the Sesmarias Country Club area of Carvoeira with two golf courses and a small choice of shops and restaurants nearby. There is a restaurant a short walk from the villa with the nearest shops just 1km away at Lojo Fresca. For a wider choice of facilities, Carvoeiro centre is only 2.5km away, where you will find a large range of bars and restaurants as well as the town’s sandy beach.

Carvoeiro, originally a sleepy fishing village, is a charming coastal resort around 6km from Lagoa and has a dramatic coastline with white houses perched on the clifttops and fishing boats lining the beach. In recent years it has grown into a flourishing resort whilst retaining much of its charm. The quaint old town area has a harbour where fishermen still land their catches, with local restaurants here serving a good choice of locally caught seafood. The cobbled streets here are lined with little shops selling local handicrafts in high season which are great as souvenirs, and market stalls where you can buy fresh produce for your barbecue lunches.

This part of the Algarve is well known for its rugged coastline where dramatic cliffs tower above beautiful sandy coves below. You will be spoilt for choice with so many beaches to visit, popular local beaches being Cavoeiro, Carvalho, Marinha and Centianes. Algar Seco, to the east of Carvoeiro is best reached by boat and has striking natural rock formations and grottoes. The clear blue waters are popular with snorkellers but you can also try windsurfing, sailing and water ski-ing. The resort has a number of golf courses suitable for all standards of players, the nearest being the Sesmarias and Carvoeiro Clube de Golf which features two 18-hole courses, Gramacho and Pinta, both 1.5km from the villa.

Children will enjoy a day at a water park, the nearest one being Slide and Splash just outside Lagoa about 6km away. Lagao is also somewhere to visit for a historical daytrip, being a 16th century town which has grown up around its main church. Here you will find a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants nestled among pretty white washed houses.

For a wider selection of shopping, take a drive to the recently opened Algarve Shopping centre near Guia, which has a wide range of stores, a hypermarket, a bowling alley and a cinema complex showing films in English with subtitles. Also at Guia is ‘Zoomarine’, an aquatic park set amidst lakes and gardens with attractions including dolphins, sealions, sharks and a parrot show
