Villa Walkthrough
Cinquenta E Sete is on one floor with two wings of bedrooms and bathrooms either side of the central living space; an ideal set-up for two families holidaying together. In addition to the sunny pool terrace on the ground floor, the large roof terrace above has sea views and further areas for barbecuing and dining.
Ground Floor
The front door opens into a small, central entrance hall with doors on the left to a tiled shower room and a store room, and a door on the right through to the kitchen. Straight ahead is the large, open-plan living/dining room with doors leading to bedrooms either side.
This light and airy room has a split-level with a step from the dining area down to the living room. The cosy sitting room is based around a large open fireplace with a yellow painted chimney. There are two built-in stone seats either side as well as cane-style furniture including two large sofas, two cushioned armchairs, a coffee table and cabinet holding the satellite TV/DVD. Large sliding glass doors flood the room with light and open onto the large sunny terrace.
Double doors take you into the well-equipped kitchen with a microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. Here there are a range of units and a back door opening to a walled courtyard, with steps up to the roof terrace.
The dining room has a side cabinet, large glass-topped table and eight chairs; it is separated from the living room by a step down and a wall with two large, open archways.
Either side of the dining area are doors into small lobbies from which there are three doors leading to: a central family bathroom with twin washbasins, and a double bedroom and a twin bedroom either side. All four bedrooms are similarly furnished with plain, unfussy fabrics and contain: bedside tables, reading lamps, wardrobe, dressing table and chair, large mirror, prints on the walls and sliding doors opening to the gardens.
Outside
The large sunny pool terrace is covered in terracotta tiles and bordered by a high white wall, providing privacy. The large private pool has integral steps on the left leading you gradually into the water; pool heating is available for a payable supplement. Around the terrace are sunloungers and table and chairs for lazy lunches in the sunshine. Along the right side of the terrace is a covered barbecue area that has a traditional built-in barbecue with tall chimney and a large table and chairs. Arched doorways lead either side from the enclosed terrace to the sides of the villa.
To one side of the villa is a small, green lawn. Access to the stunning roof terrace is from stairs within the walled kitchen courtyard. This spacious terrace has an open dining area with a central stone table and built-in seating with blue mosaic tiles. Next to this is another traditional barbecue. The distant sea views make this a lovely setting for a family meal cooked fresh on the sizzling grill. Also here is an interesting architectural feature; kind of like a small open tower which covers another stone seating area, decorated with blue mosaic tiles. This cosy space is a great spot for enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun set.

Location
Cinquenta E Sete is located on the Vale de Milho estate which is built around the 9-hole golf course. The villa is within a residential area neighbouring other villas, all with their gardens. Whilst not completely secluded, the villa’s gardens are private as trees, shrubs and paths separate it from the surroundings and a tall white wall encloses it.
About 400m away are two restaurants, one at the north entrance to the estate and one at the south entrance. There are also other restaurants, a bar, two supermarkets and several shops 700m away along Estrada do Farol; the road that leads to Centianes beach. There is a steep hill down and a steep hill up to get there, so if you’re getting lots of shopping a car is advisable.
Centianes beach, 500m away has golden sands and dramatic towering cliffs. A wooden fenced pathway leads to the beach down a small slope, which is not steep.
Carvoeiro, just 3km away, was once a quiet fishing village but has steadily grown throughout the years to incorporate the flourishing tourist trade. The streets are lined with cafes, bars and restaurants. A stroll around the older streets of the town will take you to quaint shops selling local crafts and market stalls selling fresh local goods. The small sandy beach has water sports on offer in summer Although now a bustling place in high season, the essence of the sleepy village still remains in the local fisherman who sail the seas and bring home their catches, sorting them in the harbour.
For those with kids, good family attractions nearby include…
• Aqualand Water Park – plenty of slides and flumes to scream your way down and lazy rapids where you can float along in rubber rings. About 11km away
• Krazy World – a family attraction with a small zoo that has live animal shows throughout the summer and aims to inspire children about conservation. There is also a petting zoo (with camels and llamas!), pony rides and mini-golf so there’s enough to keep the whole family occupied for a day. Approx. 17km away
• ZooMarine – an ocean theme park set amongst lakes and gardens with exhibitions, shows and rides to entertain the whole family. Has a large range of marine animals from sea lions and dolphins to turtles and exotic birds. Approx 22km away.
