Villa Colina enjoys a fantastic location only 600m from Coelho beach, just 3km from the lively resort of Albufeira. Coelho beach is a pretty beach tucked between colourful cliffs, with a nearby restaurant serving simple meals. Just 250m from the villa is another restaurant, as well as a mini-market a little further on. With the amenities so near by, you can pop out for a meal or loaf of fresh bread. And best of all, you can easily stroll down to the beach anytime you feel like it.

The Coelho area is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Albuferia coastline, with its fourteen sandy beaches and coves. The nearest is Galé beach, which has a wide variety of tourist facilities and snack bars. Salgados Golf actually backs onto the sand dunes at Galé, and offers 18 holes set amongst picturesque fairways with plenty of water hazards. In the direction of Albufeira are two smaller beaches that are quieter and less visited. Castelo Beach and São Rafael are picturesque coves protected by stunning rock formations of great natural beauty.

Once a traditional fishing village, Albufeira is now a sprawling town with plenty to see and something to suit everyone. During the day you can enjoy the sandy stretches of beach or browse the markets where local handicrafts and fresh goods are sold. In the evening, a wide variety of bars, restaurants and clubs fill the streets with people and life; locals sit on the terraces of traditional restaurants, the bars fill up with thirsty punters and all kinds of music drift across the air. You can admire the array of white yachts in the newly completed marina in the west. Alternatively, you could stroll around the Old Town and explore the maze of cobbled streets, past white-washed fishermen’s houses.

Nearby attractions for those with children include;
• ZooMarine- an ocean theme park set amongst lakes and gardens with exhibitions, shows and rides to entertain the whole family. Has a large range of marine animals from sea lions and dolphins to turtles and exotic birds. About 3km away in neighbouring Guia.
• Slide and Splash – a huge water park with pools, Jacuzzis, slides and rapids that can keep the whole family amused for a day. There are plenty of grassy areas for relaxing and picnicking and because the grounds are so large, it doesn’t get too crowded. Located north of the town on the N125

Approach

Villa Colina is set in a peaceful, leafy residencia and offers stunning sea views. There is parking space outside the attractive white villa, which is surrounded by plants and covered in flowering pink bougainvillaea.

Ground Floor

The front door opens to an entrance hall which leads to the bedrooms. The villa has recently been refurbished and has a bright and modern interior. The comfortable master bedroom has a double bed with patio doors opening to the terrace, giving easy access to the pool. Next to the double room is a twin bedroom, also with patio doors to the pool terrace. There is also a fully-tiled bathroom, with bath, shower, WC and washbasin and a separate double shower room.

First Floor

Upstairs is a landing which takes you through an archway to the open-plan living and dining room. The living area has a comfortable sofa and armchairs arranged around an attractive iron fireplace, along with a TV and DVD player. The room is filled with natural light from the large French windows, which look out to sea.

Beyond the living area is the dining area, which has a beautiful arched ceiling of glazed terracotta tiles. The solid wooden dining table seats six, and looks out through glass doors to beautiful sea views. These doors open to a balcony from which an external staircase curves down to the pool terrace.

From the dining area, you enter the fitted kitchen. Fully equipped, the kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Upstairs is a further double bedroom which has French windows opening to a private balcony terrace with sea views.

From the first floor are steps to a spacious roof terrace, equipped with a barbeque and al fresco dining furniture.

Outside

From the first-floor covered balconies, steps lead down to the pool area. The whale-shaped pool is set in a pretty terrace filled with flowering shrubs and leafy palms. High white walls surround the pool for privacy, which looks straight out past green grass to the shimmering blue sea. Sunloungers and parasols are dotted around the pool, and steps lead gently into the water for easy access. Beside the pool is shaded garden furniture, for poolside drinks and snacks.

Al fresco dining is best enjoyed on the roof terrace, which offers warm evening breezes and superb views of the sea. Up here is a built-in barbeque that is perfect for family meals cooked fresh on the sizzling grill.

Heating is available for the cooler months at an additional supplement of £60 per week.
