  • Large private pool and pool house with outdoor facilities
  • Mature gardens with outside summer kitchen and barbeque terrace
  • High-quality accommodation combining modern style with traditional features

Approach

Surrounded by hilly fields of pine and almond trees, Monte Zurappa is located along the country road from Bolimeque to Loule City. From the road, the driveway leads to parking space outside the attractive, wheat-coloured villa. Without neighbours, Monte Zurappa enjoys uninterrupted views across the countryside.

Ground Floor

The dark-green front doors open to an entrance hall. Inside the rustic villa are plenty of traditional features, such as real stone and terracotta floors, and exposed stone walls. The villa is beautifully decorated, and furnished to a high standard throughout.

On the right is the inviting living and dining room, with warm yellow walls and terracotta floors. The traditional arched windows are complemented by gothic iron chandeliers and exposed stone. In the corner is an attractive open fireplace built in the traditional Portuguese style, with comfortable armchairs and a wooden coffee table arranged around it. You will also find satellite TV and a DVD player, ideal for restful moments indoors.

Beyond the living area is a spacious dining area, with a solid wooden dining table to seat eight. The dining table looks out through French windows that open to the terrace. From the dining area, double doors open to a sunny, country-style kitchen with wooden cupboards and forest-green tiles. Spacious and fully-equipped, the kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and breakfast table. The washing machine can be found in a separate utility room, beside the guest cloakroom.

The bedrooms are located down the hallway. All the bedrooms are beautifully decorated, each in its own individual colour-scheme. The master double bedroom has a beautiful dark-wood bed, with matching bedside cabinets and wardrobe, and an en suite bathroom. Beside it is a twin bedroom with twin nightstands, fitted wardrobes and en suite bathroom. The remaining double bedroom and three twin bedrooms all have an en suite shower room and doors to the terrace. Every bedroom looks out over the gardens, with views of the surrounding countryside.

Outside

From the villa, there are a few steps down to the pool area. Because the property is set on a hill, there are panoramic views of the countryside in every direction. Outside is a summer kitchen - a shaded area with preparation surfaces meals to be cooked on the stone barbeque. Looking out across the beautiful countryside, al fresco dining is sure to be a memorable family experience.

The large pool is set in spacious terracing with sunloungers and parasols. Beside the pool is a pool house containing a shower and w/c. Surrounding the pool terrace are attractive lawns, with plenty of room for the children to run around and play. If your idea of the perfect holiday is relaxing by the pool to the sound of birdsong from the idyllic country surroundings, then Monte Zurappa is the perfect choice.

  • Falesia Beach 10.0 km

  • Mini-market in Boliqueime 3.0 km

  • Restaurant in Boliqueime 3.0 km

  • The Old Course 9.0 km

  • 25.0 km from Faro

Monte Zurappa enjoys an elevated position in hilly countryside, just 3km from the village of Boliqueime. The village has all the necessary amenities, including a mini-market, traditional restaurants and a couple of cafes. Just 10km away is Falesia Beach, whose golden sands stretch all the way to Vilamoura, one of Europe's top golf destinations.

Boliqueime nestles on the hillside, with stunning views of the sea. The village still maintains its country traditions that go back hundreds of years - such as pig's head stew complete with the ears! The village centre still has some cobbled streets with local shops, a post office, chemist and a couple of restaurants and cafes. At the heart of the village is the Catholic Church in the main square.

Further inland is the town of Loule, with its superb Saturday market, shops and restaurants. Visitors can walk around the evocative battlements of a medieval castle and remains of an ancient mosque. Among the maze of narrow, winding streets are a selection of traditional shops where craftsmen practice age-old skills.

For those seeking more active leisure pursuits, Vilamoura should be at the top of your list. An extremely cosmopolitan resort, it has almost every kind of sport and entertainment on offer, including six golf courses, sports clubs, horse riding stables, a shooting range, night clubs, a casino and plenty of restaurants and bars.

To the east is Albufeira, a sprawling town with plenty to see and something to suit everyone. During the day you can enjoy the sandy stretches of beach or browse the markets where local handicrafts and fresh goods are sold. In the evening, a wide variety of bars, restaurants and clubs fill the streets with people and life; locals sit on the terraces of traditional restaurants, the bars fill up with thirsty punters and all kinds of music drift across the air. You can admire the array of white yachts in the newly completed marina in the west. Alternatively, you could stroll around the Old Town and explore the maze of cobbled streets, past white-washed fishermen's houses.

Very easy to book and paying online with no exchange rates to worry about. Good information pack before going.

Very few english tourists where we were, nice and quiet and very traditional, but still easy to get to beaches and water parks.
