The villa has single-storey 3-bedroomed accommodation although there is a further mezzanine double bedroom accessed via a spiral staircase from the living room. This unique villa has a large covered dining terrace with one end fully glazed to provide an enclosed conservatory style dining room and extra sitting area.

Ground Floor

The villa’s gated driveway leads through an orchard to the villa’s entrance porch. The villa is approached through an orchard and has a partly covered parking area to the side. The pool garden is at the front of the villa, with views towards the Puig de Maria.

The entrance leads into a comfortable living room which has a traditional woodburner and a beamed ceiling. There are sofas and armchairs grouped around a coffee table, with a satellite television and a DVD player housed in a wooden corner unit. A metal spiral staircase, closed with a chain, leads to a mezzanine bedroom with a double bed that can be used if required, perhaps suitable for a teenager in your party.

At the back of the living room is a step up to a hallway. Opening from here is the kitchen which is fitted with a good range of light oak units and a granite work surface. It is well-equipped with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave and has a breakfast table and stools against one wall. There is a convenient hatch to the living room. The washing machine is housed in the cloakroom, just off the living area, which also has a WC and washbasin.

The villa’s air-conditioned bedrooms are all accessed from the rear hallway. There are two pleasantly furnished twin rooms and a lovely double bedroom which has a pine bed with a matching dressing table and chest of drawers. All the bedrooms have the benefit of air-conditioning if required.

A door from the living area leads outside to a spacious covered terrace which overlooks the pool garden. This area has a long table and chairs and a comfy swing seat where you can relax in the shade with a book whilst the children play in the pool. There are sliding glazed doors to the dining room, which is in a fully enclosed conservatory style area. It has a dining table with seating for six, another television and also an additional seating area with cane sofas and chairs around a central coffee table. To the rear of this room is a step up to the barbecue kitchen which has a double sink and two cooking rings, ideal for entertaining on the adjacent terrace with built-in barbecue.

Outside

The villa sits in delightful gardens with mature fruit trees, climbing plants and pretty shrub borders providing shade and colour. The covered terrace adjacent to the villa has a step down to a paved area around a manicured lawn, with the swimming pool beyond. The pool has a Roman end with integral steps and there is a sunny terrace at this end where you can sunbathe in the shelter of a clipped boundary hedge. The gardens and terraces have lovely countryside views across to the Puig de Maria (a locally renowned hill with a monastery on top) in the distance.

Location

Pollyanna is a charming villa located in the La Font residential area, within walking distance of Pollensa Old Town. There is a convenient supermarket only 500metres from the villa making it easy to stock up for your holiday catering. The nearest beach is the beautiful Cala St. Vincent beach, around 4km away or you can visit Puerto Pollensa beach which is 6km from the villa. There are plenty of opportunities for walking and mountain biking in the area - you can visit the ancient monastery at Puig de Maria at 333m and a host of other interesting local landmarks and natural features.

Pollensa Old Town is set against the dramatic backdrop of the Tramuntana Mountains a little way inland from the coast. The origins of the town are Roman and it is a pleasant place to wander around, with craft shops and boutiques to visit. Placa Major, the main square, has a Sunday morning market where you can buy souvenir handicrafts or fresh local produce such as cheese, olives and Mediterranean vegetables to sample at lunch or on the barbecue. Nearby Pollensa Golf is a 9-hole course with wonderful views over the Tramuntana mountains, olive groves and Pollensa bay.

Puerto Pollensa is a short drive from the villa and has a beautiful horseshoe bay with sheltered waters and a wide sweep of white sand. Again popular with families due its gently sloping nature, there is also a good selection of water sports on offer and excellent beachside facilities including beach bars, ice cream parlours and sun-bed hire. Try water ski-ing, parasailing or windsurfing if you are feeling energetic, or take a gentle ride in a pedalo in the bay’s clear blue waters. There is a prestigious sailing club in the resort offering tuition and equipment hire. The resort has a fairly low key nightlife centred mainly around the bars and restaurants near the marina where you can admire the colourful mix of luxury yachts and fishing boats. Take advantage of the balmy evenings to enjoy an evening stroll along the ‘Pine Walk’, a palm fringed promenade lined with restaurants and pavement cafes.

Cala St Vincent is a quiet coastal area surrounded by mountains with pine-clad ground sloping gently to the sea. There are two coves to choose from where you will find sparkling shallow water which is great for families with young children. With convenient parking, a choice of restaurants and sun-loungers and parasols for hire, everything is laid on here for you to enjoy a relaxing day in the sun.

At the southern end of Pollensa Bay is Alcudia, a bustling resort which has another excellent beach and a good selection of shops and restaurants. Children will enjoy a visit to the water park here and there are bar and discos if you are looking for a more lively nightlife. The old town area has the remains of a Roman amphitheatre and a beautifully preserved medieval wall and gate.
