Villa Walkthrough
Quinta do Calicos is a traditional villa where the accommodation is laid out on one level.
Approach
Quinta do Calicos is accessed by a driveway, then steps up to the front door surrounded by pretty flowering shrubs.
Ground Floor
The main living space is an airy spacious room with wooden beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and terracotta tiled floors. There is comfortable seating for 4 people gathered around the room’s wood burning stove, which is set in a tapered white chimney breast. The room has a television, which has some satellite channels and a CD player. There is a rectangular wooden table with seating for four people and the kitchen is open plan. The kitchen is well equipped with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, and washing machine.
From the living area, three steps lead you through a pretty stone archway to the bedrooms. The inviting double bedroom has sloping wooden ceilings, stone walls and wooden French windows which lead out into the garden. The twin room has a lovely traditional feel with dark wood beds, a dresser, wardrobe and hat stand beneath sloping wooden ceilings. There is a modern, marble tiled bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and twin washbasins and a further separate shower room.
Outside
Outside, the attractive pool terrace is kept private by a smooth white wall that curves around it. The tiled Roman-ended pool has steps leading into the water. Next to the pool is a tiled shower. Leafy green trees shield the wall, giving the pool a naturally secluded feel. To the side of the villa is a spacious, shaded terrace. Also here is the villa’s built-in barbecue and garden furniture, perfect for taking advantage of those warm summer evenings and dining outdoors. The gardens are located through an arched gateway.

Location
Quinta do Calicos is located in quiet countryside just 4km from Carvoeiro centre. The nearest amenities can be found in the pretty fishing village of Benagil. From Benagil’s charming beach, it is possible to hire boats to get to isolated beaches.
Carvoiero is the nearest resort, and it has grown in recent years, but was once a quiet fishing village and still managed to retain its original charm. The shops which line the streets and the restaurants and bars combine to offer you most of the things you will need on your villa holiday. There is a choice of eateries close to the town’s beach, along with some excellent fish restaurants which feature locally caught fresh fish. Take a stroll into the old town and you will find quaint shops selling local handicrafts, and market stall selling fresh local produce. The sandy beach here is a small bay shielded by cliffs which is popular in high season, and offers a selection of water sports.
For a local daytrip, Lago is a historic 16th century town which has pretty white-washed houses which has a lingering feel of history in the streets, where beautiful altars still mark the Stations of the Cross used in the Holy Week ceremonies. There are some quaint shops, cafes and traditional restaurants here.
