Approach

Quinta do Moleiro is set in a pleasant suburb above Carvoeiro, within a residential area that has many other holiday villas. This spacious villa has five bedrooms and very large grounds with its own private playground, tennis court, swimming pool and badminton court – making it an ideal choice for groups of friends and families looking for fun and relaxation in the sun. A pathway in the front garden leads you to the front door on the ground floor.

Ground Floor

The large entrance hall contains stairs to the first floor, and doors off to a bedroom, the living room and a small shower room.
The spacious living/dining room has a big open fireplace in the centre; on one side is a large horseshoe of bench seating around the wall. To the other side is a sofa, two armchairs and a wooden dining table and chairs. A sliding window opens from here to the covered terrace and there is a door to the large and well-equipped kitchen which has a range of fitted units and modern appliances including a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. From the kitchen, there is a door to a large family bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub, perfect for those who like their baths with bubbles.
Two of the ground floor bedrooms are found either side of a small hallway, off of the living room, where there is a family bathroom with full bathtub. Both are furnished with twin beds. The third bedroom is found to the right of the entrance hall, and has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. The bedrooms are all decorated in much the same way; with wooden bed-frames, beside tables and reading lamps, soft rugs on the tiled floors and draping curtains at the large windows.

First Floor

An internal staircase leads to a small, thin hallway with doors to the first floor bedrooms. Both are furnished with twin beds, and one has an en-suite bathroom and doors opening to the balcony terrace with distant sea views. This is a nice place to sit and savour a cup of coffee first thing in the morning.

Outside

Access to the pool area is either through an arched doorway leading round from the back of the villa, or from the front garden via three small steps up. The paved pool terrace is enclosed by an attractive trellis-work stone wall. The private pool has integral steps leading you into the water, and around the sides are sunloungers and parasols for sunbathing and shaded reading.
To the left of the pool terrace is a children’s play area with a swing, slide and see-saw. A small covered patio to the side of the pool with a large stone-topped table and seating. This provides a nice outdoor dining area – perhaps for meals cooked freshly on the sizzling barbecue. From the back of the villa, stairs at the side lead to the terraced balcony on the upper floor, from here there are distant views towards the sea.

  The crossroads close to villa is very hazardous there were 3 accidents there during our stay somebody needs to shoot the dog that barks all night in a nearby villa

  The restaurants we used were all very good the children enjoyed the local water park and the beaches

Location

The spacious Qunito do Moleiro is set in a residential location, above the picturesque village of Carvoeiro.

A 20-minute downhill stroll or short trip in the car will bring you to the small sandy beach of Praia do Carvoeiro, where there are water sports on offer in summer. Carvoeiro was once a quiet fishing village but has steadily grown throughout the years to incorporate the flourishing tourist trade. The streets are lined with cafes, bars and restaurants, and a stroll around the older streets of the town will take you to quaint shops selling local crafts and market stalls selling fresh local goods. Although now a bustling place in high season, the essence of the sleepy village still remains in the local fisherman who sail the seas and bring home their catches, sorting them in the harbour.

• Aqualand water park – plenty of slides and flumes to scream your way down and lazy rapids where you can float along in rubber rings. About 8km away
• Krazy World – a family attraction with a small zoo that has live animal shows throughout the summer and aims to inspire children about conservation. There is also a petting zoo (with camels and llamas!), pony rides and mini-golf so there’s enough to keep the whole family occupied for a day. Approx. 20km away
• ZooMarine – an ocean theme park set amongst lakes and gardens with exhibitions, shows and rides to entertain the whole family. Has a large range of marine animals from sea lions and dolphins to turtles and exotic birds. Approx 20km away.
