The Rochedo resort has an enviable location on an extremely picturesque stretch of coastline with some of the Algarve’s best beaches nearby. The resort has a mini-market on site for your self-catering requirements as well as a choice of bars and dining facilities. The village of Cavoeiro, 2.6km away, has plenty of shops and restaurants if you would like to do a little exploring of the local area.

The nearest beach is Centianes, 1km to the west of the resort, which has golden sands and good facilities including sun-loungers, parasols and pedalos to hire. Carvalho beach is just 2km from the apartments in the opposite direction. The main beaches all offer a variety of water sports to suit all tastes.

Carvoeiro, originally a sleepy fishing village, is a charming coastal resort with a dramatic coastline characterized by white houses perched on the cliff tops and fishing boats lining the beach. The 16th Century town of Lagoa is only 7km away and the larger towns of Lagos (32km) and Portimao (15km) are also within easy reach. Portimao has an excellent retail park and is well known for its shoe shops selling high quality shoes at bargain prices. Algarve Shopping is a large complex situated 25km away at Guia.

For golfing enthusiasts, the 9 hole Vale de Milho course is just 0.5km away, with the Gramacho and Pinta courses also nearby. Guests at the resort may be offered discounted rates at these courses and a number of other local ones – please ask for details in resort.

There are several aqua parks in the area, the nearest being Slide and Splash at Estombar just outside Lagoa. Aqualand is based at Alcantarilha, whilst at Guia near Albufeira, you will find the ZooMarine ocean theme park set amongst lakes and gardens.

Approach

The Rochedo resort has a tranquil cliff top setting surrounded by 11 hectares of landscaped gardens. The development has been specially designed to integrate well with the local area and consists of low rise apartment buildings and villas built in a typical Algarvian style.

Ground Floor

This well-presented apartment has an open plan living area with comfortable sofas, a television with some satellite channels and a dining table and chairs for four. Sliding patio doors open to a private terrace - a great place for your morning coffee or a leisurely drink before wandering down to dine in the restaurant.

The fitted kitchen is well-equipped with a washing machine and microwave as well as a hob, oven and fridge.

There are two bright and airy bedrooms - one double and one twin - and there is a separate bathroom. Electric heating is available throughout the apartment for the cooler months

Outside

The apartments stand amidst beautifully landscaped communal gardens with three outdoor pools, one of which is heated in winter. Other on-site facilities include a children’s play area, four tennis courts for hire and a gymnasium offering activities such as pilates, aerobics and salsa dancing. Tennis tournaments and tuition can be arranged and you can buy or rent tennis equipment at the tennis club reception. If you prefer to be less active on your Algarve holiday, simply laze by the waterfall pool in the sunshine or maybe visit the beauty salon for a relaxing treatment. A poolside bar provides drinks, snacks and cocktails.

The ‘O Farol’ restaurant is situated at the heart of the resort and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner all year round. Offering a choice of Portuguese and English menus, the restaurant has tables both inside and out on the terrace overlooking the main pool. The snack bar at the entrance to Rochedo serves meals, ice creams and drinks, including a full English breakfast – the young and young at heart will enjoy the live music and karaoke in summer and the year round pool table, video games and darts. The restaurant bar has live music playing twice weekly during the summer evenings and a TV bar screens major sporting events.

For families with children between the ages of 4 and 12 years, there is a free activity club operating 5 days a week from May to the end of September. Bi-lingual staff will entertain your children with activities ranging from painting to volleyball whilst you enjoy some time to yourself.

A complimentary shuttle bus services operates three times a day to Carvoeiro village and the beach.
