This villa is set in the beautiful, friendly resort of Senhora da Rocha where white-washed villas sit amidst beautiful landscaped gardens. The resort has many amenities including restaurants and swimming pools, and is just 50m from a lovely sandy beach.

Many of the villas in Senhora da Rocha are arranged like townhouses, with small rows of typically white-washed villas and red-tiled roofs set within beautiful landscaped gardens. Whilst each villa has a private terrace and spacious accommodation, this may not suit those seeking complete privacy and tranquillity.

Senhora da Rocha means ‘Lady of the Rock’ and is symbolic of the beautiful cliff-top location of this small, friendly resort. The beach of the same name, is just 50m away. From the generous parking area and sea-front restaurants on the cliff-top, steps lead down to the beautiful golden sands of Praia Senhora da Rocha. (Please supervise children on the way down). Here, the gentle turquoise waters are sheltered by dramatic cliffs to either side. There is a small beachside café and plenty of room to build a sand-castle kingdom.
Perched atop the cliff-top to the east is the Nossa Senhora da Rocha, a beautiful white-washed church, sat gazing out to sea. A natural tunnel in the rocks (or a short walk along the road) will bring you to the neighbouring Praia do Pescadore or ‘Fisherman’s beach’ where colourful fishing boats are often pulled up onto the shore.

The popular beach resort of Armacão de Pera is only 3km away. Senhora da Rocha run regular shuttle buses there and back, throughout the day. There is a sandy stretch of beach ideal for long walks, and giving plenty of room for everyone (and it can get busy in high season). The beachfront does have several high-rise apartments, the upside of which is the vast array of cafes, shops and restaurants to serve all your needs. And should you wish to leave the peace of the villa, it has some lively nightlife. Here there is also a hypermarket – ideal for stocking up on fresh meat and fish for the barbecue.

The site has three all-weather tennis courts. During the summer season, coaching sessions are available for all age groups in either the Maxi (17+ years) or Mini (6-16 year-olds) clubs. In addition there are separate sessions for Ladies, Mens and Mixed doubles play. The courts, rackets and balls are all available for hire when not being used for orgnaised sessions.
About 4km away is the nearest golf course of Salgados, an 18-hole course; one of the newest in the Algarve. It has many lakes and most of the holes are influenced by water hazards. Guests of Senhora da Rocha can enjoy special discounted green fees.
During the main season you can join the Scuba Tour diving school and learn the basics in just two introductory courses. If you wish, you can then enroll in advanced classes which would result in an internationally recognized certificate. Avaiable to all over the age of 10.

Approach

This charming white-washed holiday villa is located in the cheerful and friendly cliff-top resort of Senhora da Rocha. Set amidst mature landscaped gardens full of green lawns and colourful shrubs, the villa enjoys a private sun terrace with built-in barbecue to the front. A short walk will take you to the many attractions and amenities, including a sandy beach, communal pools, restaurants and mini-market shop. Senhora da Rocha is family-orientated and well-established, making these villas an ideal setting for relaxing and sun-filled family holidays.

Ground Floor

The front door opens into a central entrance hall opening onto the light and airy living/dining room. The villa is simply decorated throughout with white-washed walls, tiled flooring and wooden furniture. A sofa and two armchairs are arranged in front of an attractive open fireplace, and glass patio doors open on to the sunny terrace. There is also a dining area with a table and four chairs. An open doorway leads into the small but functional kitchen with rows of wooden units and a fresh, white worktop with an integral sink beneath a sunny window. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric hob/oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and washing machine.
From the entrance hall, a corridor leads to the first floor bedrooms. The master room has twin beds, bedside cabinets with small reading lamps and a wardrobe. From the curtained window there are nice views across the surroundingarea. A door leads to the en-suite shower room with colourful tiles, a walk-in shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin. The other bedrooms is furnished with twin beds, fitted wardrobes and a large chest of drawers. This room has the use of tiled bathroom with full baththub.

Outside

Patio doors lead out to the sun terrace, partly shaded by a bougainvillea-covered pergola. Here there is a garden table and chairs as well as a built-in barbecue. An ideal setting for a family barbecue cooked fresh on the sizzling grill.

Additional Information

The friendly and family-orientated Senhora da Rocha site has two restaurants, a bar, small shop with a great bakery. The resort has a reception staffed 24-hours a day for local advice, hiring, bookable excursions etc. Here you can also request a baby-sitting service.

There is also three tennis courts, a volleyball court, basketball court and three pools; one heated indoor pool, one outdoor freshwater pool and one outdoor saltwater pool. There is also a children’s paddling pool and play area.

Guests of Senhora da Rocha can enjoy special discounted green fees at the nearby Salgados 18-hole golf course. Located just the other side of Armacao de Pera, about 4km away.
