This completely renovated stone house is positioned in a wonderful location on a hillside near to the old village of Podgora on Makarska Riviera. You have magnificent views across the crystal clear Adriatic sea to the Islands of Brac and Hvar. This stretch of the coast is well known for its lovely beaches; indeed there is a beautiful beach at Podogra which is just 5 minutes from this property. Other good spots for swimming are at nearby Tucepi and the long stretch of bay at Brela. The old village of Podgora has just a few hundered inhabitants with an ancient stone church on the hillside with spectacular sea views. Just 5 minutes drive below the villa is the beach centre of Podgora in which you will find a small marina, plus several shops, bars and restaurants such as 'Rocco' and 'Ribar' which serve fresh fish and meat accompanied by good local wines. Only 10 minutes drive is the lively centre of Makarska which has many more restaurants plus a busy nightlife, as well as having regular ferries to the Island of Brac. 40 minutes away you can go rafting down the spectacular Cetina River near Omis and of course you should pay a visit to the historical centre of Split which is about 1 hour 15 minutes drive. DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION This property has been completely renovated with quality and stylish fittings within its original stone exterior; it sits on a slope so that the living areas are on the upper level. Behind the property, is the secluded 8m x 3m swimming pool with roman steps, shower and sunbeds; at one end is wooden decking with outdoor chairs and steps that go up to an upper terrace with panaromic views, at the other end is another terrace with a barbecue plus dining table and chairs for outdoor dining in the most idyllic surroundings.   You enter the upper level of the house directly from the terrace and pool area into the spacious air-conditioned living/dining room with sea views and a small outside balcony. There is a sofa, armchair, coffee table, LCD TV, DVD and Hi-Fi plus dining area with table and chairs for 6; adjacent to this is the kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge and cooker. On the same floor is a double bedroom with sea view, and bathroom/wc. On the lower level, which is air-conditioned, are two bedrooms: one double, and one twin with a sea view.
