Villa Alice is situated 4km from Carvoeiro, within easy reach of the restaurants at Quinta Rosal and just a short drive from the beach. The rugged coastline of this region is characterized by sandy beaches nestled at the foot of steep cliffs - you will be spoilt for choice with so many beaches to visit, with popular local beaches including Marinha, Carvoeiro town beach and Centianes. Algar Seco, to the east of Carvoeiro is best reached by boat and has striking natural rock formations and grottoes. The clear blue waters are popular with snorkellers but you can also try windsurfing, sailing and water ski-ing. The nearest Golf course is at Vale de Milho with a choice of excellent courses in the surrounding area including nearby Pestana Golf. Tennis courts are available to hire at locally.
Carvoeiro is a charming coastal resort around 6km from Lagoa and has a dramatic coastline with white houses perched on the clifttops and fishing boats lining the beach. You can still watch the local fishermen landing their catches at the harbour. The old part of town has cobbled streets where you can sip coffee at one of the pavement cafes and you will also find a variety of market stalls selling handicrafts, ceramics and souvenirs in high season.
Children will enjoy a day at a water park, the nearest one being Slide and Splash just outside Lagoa about 6km away. Lagao is also somewhere to visit for a historical daytrip, being a 16th century town which has grown up around its main church. Here you will find a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants nestled among pretty white washed houses.
For a wider selection of shopping, take a drive to the recently opened Algarve Shopping centre near Guia, which has a wide range of stores including well known international brands such as Zara and The Bodyshop. Here you will also find a hypermarket, a bowling alley and a cinema complex which shows films in English with subtitles.

Booking was easy. Lady I spoke with was very helpful and personable. Villa was well maintained, very clean, comfortable and roomy for two people and very private. The pool was of a good size and even though heated once you got over the initial cold shock it was great!
Beaches were lovely, very clean and a great choice of either very small or very large beaches. All areas we visited were very clean and well kept. We ate lunch in the town 5 out of 7 times and found great food, were never rushed to finish and go, staff very friendly and good value. Children were treated with respect and were well received not just tolerated. The town, though small, had a large number of places to eat and if you want a bar, there were a number of those too. Villa Alice was quiet and off the beaten track and also had a garage which, as the weather was hot, was great to keep the car cool.

Villa Alice was perfect for a quiet break, remote area perfect for peace and quiet but with nice restaurants within walking distance.

Nice quiet coastal resort
The villas to go service was very good. We were provided with excellent local information and driving instructions in plenty of time before our trip. The description and photos of the villa were very accurate and it was very clean. It was also very good value for money.
The resort itself was nice and not quite as touristy as some in the Algarve. The villa itself though is quite far away. ie. not walking distance. This suited us as it was peaceful having a small baby but there is not that much round about. The beaches were spectacular. There are also many good restaurants that are very nice and are better value for money than some in the main resort.
