The more energetic members of the group might like an early morning walk to the nearby tiny village of Agia Triada to buy bread and honey for breakfast.

This holiday villa has the advantage of being located in the Cretan countryside but only 3km from the sandy beach of Platanes. It is located midway along the island of Crete which is ideal if you are want to visit famous historical sites such as the Palace of Knossos, the Monastery of Arkadi, the Preveli Palm Beach and the old historical town of Rethymnon.

Rethymnon is 10km away, a 10-15 minute drive by car. This lively, ancient city shows architectural evidence of earlier occupation by the Venetians and the Turks. The Venetian fortress is the largest in the world.

You might like to swim and sunbathe on the long sandy beach in the morning and afterwards make your way through the ancient alleyways of the old quarter to the harbour browsing in the many boutiques and shops as you go. Find a taverna overlooking the harbour and enjoy traditional Cretan cuisine over a long, lazy lunch. For that special evening out you might want to dine in one of the many restaurants that can be found in Rethymnon.

Approach

This pastel peach and white family villa is approached via shady, winding lanes. The property is built in an elevated position and is surrounded by a terraced garden with immaculate green lawns. The air is heavy with the scent of Mediterranean trees and flowers that form a scenic backdrop to this lovely property.

Ground Floor

There is a ramp and steps leading up to the front door that opens directly on to the open plan living space with natural light coming in from windows in the dining area and patio doors that lead on to the terrace and pool. Air conditioning, plain pastel walls and tiled floors create a cool refreshing atmosphere. The living area has a comfortable seating area together with a dining table and chairs. Entertainment facilities include TV, DVD player and CD player. A special feature of this room is the fireplace made out of local stone extending from floor to ceiling. This is a lovely room from which to escape the heat of the midday sun.

A breakfast bar divides the kitchen from the living space. You will find a fully fitted, modern style kitchen, with an oven, microwave, fridge, dishwater and washing machine.

The twin bedroom on the ground floor is suitable for wheelchair users and is accessed via an inner hall leading from the living area. There is a separate full bathroom with shower.

Ground Floor

LOWER LEVEL -
There is a large twin bedroom with separate shower room and doors leading to the garden terrace. Ideal for those early risers who like to take a swim before breakfast.

First Floor

There are two bedrooms on the upper floor. The master suite features an en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. After a relaxing day and a delicious dinner why not relax in a bath and then make your way through the Patio doors that lead on to a large terrace. Sit quietly and breathe in the wonderful country air.

The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and terrace. From the terrace there are panoramic views towards the sea on the left hand side and mountain views and olive groves to the right. Listen to the sound of Cicadas as the sun sets and the gentle breezes cool the evening air.
