This 3-bedroomed villa is arranged with the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living accommodation on the first floor to take advantage of the superb views. There are steps down to the garden from the first floor balcony which extends along the width of the upper floor.

Approach

Villa Becca has an elevated setting overlooking the beach and Lagos marina. This attractive whitewashed villa has shutters at the windows and is set in mature gardens surrounded by hedges and trees.

Ground Floor

The bedrooms of this villa are all located on the ground floor enabling you to make the most of the superb sea views from the first floor living room. There are three spacious bedrooms, all having patio doors with direct access to the pool terrace. Traditionally furnished with dark wood fitted wardrobes and terracotta tiles on the floor, the master bedroom has a double bed and a stylish en suite bathroom with a white suite and marble tiles. There are sliding French windows opening to the pool garden which keep the room cool and allow easy access to the pool if you fancy an early morning swim. The two twin rooms are individually decorated, one having pretty white painted furniture and a yellow colour scheme and the other with a more traditional decor. Both rooms have built-in wardrobes and patio doors to the pool garden.

First Floor

Upstairs there is a spacious and comfortable open plan living area with doors to a large balcony which stretches the width of the house and has superb sea views. The room is divided into two distinct parts, with a cosy sitting room at one end which has three sofas nestled around the fireplace. There is a television with some satellite channels and also a DVD player. At the other end of the room, there is a circular dining table with seating for six and a doorway to the kitchen which is fitted with pine units and has a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave as well as a hob, oven and fridge/freezer. The kitchen also has access to the first floor balcony and there are steps from here down to the garden and pool area.

Outside

The large 15m x 6m pool is surrounded by a paved sun terrace which is partly walled and is a great place to soak up the sun on one of the sun-loungers provided. Beyond this is a lawn bordered by hedges and trees with plenty of space for children to play in the sun or shade. The first floor balcony has superb views of Meia Praia and can be reached via steps from the garden.

Location

Villa Becca has an elevated location overlooking Meia Praia and Lagos marina.

Lagos is a historic maritime city, Vasco da Gama having set sail from here in 1499. The main square, Praca da Republica is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee and watch the world go by, and there is a good selection of restaurants and shops along its pedestrianised main street. The city has a working harbour where fisherman still bring in their hauls and also a trendy marina bustling with yachts and cruisers. Street entertainers add to the lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere. The town buzzes with life at night, with countless bars offering speciality cocktails. If you are looking for holiday souvenirs, there are numerous boutiques selling wickerwork, jewellery and leather goods. There are plenty of sites of historic interest including the governor’s castle and the Church of St. Sebastian, and on a less savoury note, the city was home to some of the earliest slave markets.

The beautiful bay at Praia da Luz is considered to be one of the Algarve’s finest beaches with its fine white sands and warm turquoise water. Popular with families because of its gently sloping nature, it is well served by a few beachside cafes and a variety of water sports are on offer in summer. Its colourful sandstone cliffs provide beautiful cliff-top walks and at one end are the locally renowned ‘rocha negra’ or black rocks; evidence of ancient volcanic activity. Meia Praia is an expanse of white sand stretching from Lagos to Alvor, lined with beach bars and restaurants and popular with surfers despite strong ocean currents.

Families with children may enjoy a day out at Lagos Zoo which is set in lovely landscaped gardens with exotic animals and plants or the Slide and Splash water park near Lagoa. Golfing enthusiasts are spoilt for choice in the Algarve but the nearest course is the eighteen hole Palmares Golf at Lagos which has splendid views over the coast.
