Binibeca Vell is on the south-west corner of Menorca between the lovely town of Binibeca and the old fishing village of Biniancolla.

Easy walking distance to Binibeca to enjoy its restaurants and quiet bars and of course its lovely beach with its superb beach bar. Whilst the route through Biniancolla, along the coast road and back through Torret De Baix is a joggers paradise!

Binibeca is a well established seaside resort on the south coast of Menorca. The two parts of this resort, Binibequer Vell and the more traditional Menorcan village of Binibequer Nou are connected by a beautiful sweep of shoreline and the beach of Cala de Binibeca. This large cove, sheltered by sand dunes, has fine white sand and a gentle gradient making it a favourite for families with young children. A beach hut bar provides refreshments and also offers bamboo parasols and sun-loungers for hire. Spend a day here lazing by the water’s edge, or if you are feeling energetic, try a game of tennis at the resort’s public tennis courts.
The island’s historical capital, Mahon, is just 10km from Villa Sonny and is home to the world’s second deepest natural harbour. From here you can take a boat tour or simply sit with a drink and enjoy the sights and sounds of the bustling port as ships and yachts come and go. You will also find places of architectural and historical interest, and several museums detailing the island’s long and celebrated history. The city itself offers a wide range of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, and has a lively array of nightlife. The largest concentration of busy clubs and bars can be found near the main port, and for those who enjoy live music, Mahon has a number of Jazz clubs.

Menorca has more ancient ruins than any other Mediterranean island and is an explorer’s dream. The taulas (massive T-shaped rock monoliths), the talyots (prehistoric watchtowers on the top of hills), and the navetas (prehistoric burial chambers), can be found all over the island. La Mola, the fortress at the north end of Mahon harbour, provides fine views of the eastern end of the island. The coastal cliffs and headlands around Menorca are dotted with ancient caves and remnants of prehistoric villages, notably the caves of Cap de Penyes and the labyrinth of over one hundred prehistoric chambers at Cales Coves, 10km west of Mahon. Dating from the 9th Century BC, this massive cave system was once used as a burial chamber and was a site of pagan rituals.
