Villa Colmeia is located in a quiet residential area of the town of Lagos in the Western Algarve – within walking distance of local shops and restaurants.

1.5km away is the historic maritime city of Lagos with a rich history and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. This charming city offers a great selection of restaurants; the biggest concentration of which is found in the pedestrianised streets. Lined with open-air cafes, the main square of Praça da Republica is the best place to indulge in a cool drink and a spot of people watching. There are often lots of street entertainers as well; everything from magicians to clowns and living statues. Lagos played an important part in the Age of Discovery and Henry the Navigator had his ships built here. It was also home to some of the earliest slave markets. Proud of its long history, Lagos offers plenty of buildings and historic sites worth visiting; the governor’s castle and the church of St Sebastian being two of them.

A nearby natural sight is the ‘Ponte da Piedada’; a huge rock formation that has been hollowed out by the tides of the sea. The rocks are composed of bold colours and feature many caves and hollows. A boat trip is the best way to view this site but a cliff-top walk also provides a good look at this natural phenomenon. On the utmost tip of Lagos Bay, approx 3km away.

• Lagos Zoo: set in lovely landscaped gardens with exotic plants, this zoo contains 250 different animals and offers the chance to get close to a variety of species. There is an educational farm, souvenir shop and restaurant. Located between Sao Joao and Bensafrim, about 10km away.
• Slide and Splash: one of Europe’s biggest water parks that aims to keep you busy for a whole day with is range of plunging and gentle slides, swimming pools and a lazy rubber ring river. Approx 25km away near Lagoa.

Ground Floor

Very large living/dining room with Satellite TV, DVD/CD player and doors to the pool terrace. Modern fitted kitchen opening into the dining area with modern appliances. Two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms share two separate full bathrooms.

Outside

The balustraded pool area has plenty of sunloungers for enjoying the sunshine. Next to the pool is a small lawned area and barbecue – an ideal spot for some alfresco dining.

Additional Information

For larger parties the property has two extra apartments (with exterior entrances) comprising of a bedroom, showerroom and living/kitchenette sleeping an extra 2 persons each. These are never let separately from the main house. An extra charge applies to book these – please ask our friendly sales team for details. Linen change once a week, towel change and maid service twice a week.
