Villa Diana is single storey villa where the living and sleeping accommodation are all on one level.

Ground Floor

The spacious living room of Villa Diana has comfortable seating for six people and a television which has some satellite channels. There is also a DVD and CD player, and the room has doors which open onto the terrace, giving easy access to the house. The large kitchen has enough space for a dining table and four chairs, ideal for feeding the children breakfast. The kitchen is fitted and comes equipped with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

As the villa is single storey, all the bedrooms are also on this level. The master bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom which has a bath/shower, washbasin and wc. The two other bedrooms are twin rooms, and share the family bathroom which contains a shower, washbasin and wc.

The terraces of Villa Diana are on two levels and provide a lovely outdoor space for sunbathing and relaxing on your villa holiday. The rectangular pool measures 7m x 4m x 1.20 deep and has a roman end and integral steps. The pool is reached by a couple of steps from the dining terrace, and can be heated to suit. The upper terrace comes complete with outdoor dining furniture, an iron barbecue and parasols, and there are sun beds for those who enjoy basking in the sunshine.

Location

Puerto Calero is on the south-west coast of Lanzarote, 3km south of Puerto del Carmen and only 10km away from Arrecife airport. An exclusive development with high class hotels and prestigious villas, Puerto Calero has a luxury marina surrounded by bars and restaurants and some boutiques and up-market tourist shops.

The marina offers several excursions including catamaran trips, submarine rides and sport-fishing where you can experience the thrill of landing a Blue-Fin Tuna or maybe even catch a shark! For those who prefer to be in the water rather than on it, there are a couple of diving schools offering instruction and equipment for both beginners and the more advanced.

Although there is no beach at Puerto Calero, the famous white Papagayo beaches are just along the shoreline and neighbouring Puerto del Carmen is very close by.

Nearby is Puerto del Carmen - this busy popular coastal resort only 3km drive away. Originally a fishing village the picturesque harbour at the southern end of the resort is home to some great fish restaurants which provide excellent freshly caught fare and traditional Canarian cuisine. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxing and the cobbled streets and tapas bars of the old quarter remind you of another era.
The rest of this sprawling resort caters admirably to the burgeoning tourist trade and now stretches along 6km of coastal road. Strict planning regulations have prevented the construction of high-rise blocks so the resort is large but remains picturesque. The Avenida de las Playas is the promenade which runs along the beachfront and is lined with hundreds of shops and restaurants, bars and cafes, ice-cream parlours and amusement arcades. International cuisine and fast food is plentiful here if you are looking for something familiar rather than traditional.

Nightlife is varied and there is a wide spectrum of entertainments on offer. Restaurants offer romantic meals for two, there are karaoke bars, sports bars, bars with live music and if you are interested in dancing the night away – Centro Atlantico is the place to head for.

Beach life in the resort is good. All Puerto del Carmen’s beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness. The main beach – Playa Grande – gently shelves into the clear blue ocean and offers sun beds and umbrellas, water sports and excellent beach side facilities. There are a number of wind surfing and diving schools in Puerto del Carmen for enthusiasts to indulge in, and several companies offer bike hire along the promenade.

The Fiesta de Carmen erupts into colourful life at the end of July in honour of the town’s patron saint. Folklore performances, singing and dancing last well into the early hours, so if you are fortunate enough to be holidaying at this time of year, it is a party not to be misses.
