Approach

Recently renovated to a high standard, Villa Furore offers comfortable stylish accommodation with great facilities. The house has its own private pool set in beautiful gardens with mature plants and large trees providing shade and privacy.

Ground Floor

The living/dining area of Villa Furore offers spacious accommodation with two separate seating areas. The décor is light and airy, and the stone floors keep the villa cool even in the midday heat. Sofas and comfortable armchairs are grouped around a coffee table. A further built in seating area is grouped around an attractive wood burning stove, set in a tapered chimney breast, and this corner houses the television, which has satellite channels. A step down leads to the dining area, which has a large wooden table and chair to seat six people. The room is kept bright by sunlight streaming in through several windows, and patio doors leading out onto the covered terrace, overlooking the pool. This area of the villa presents the perfect place to shelter from the sun, or to take advantage of the balmy Algarve evenings and dine out.

The kitchen is large and spacious with wooden base and eye level units, and contains a wooden table for family breakfasts. Equipped to high standards, the kitchen has a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher.

The villa has two double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms containing bath, wash basin and toilet. The two other bedrooms share the family bathroom. All the bedrooms are lightly decorated in spring colours to complement the traditional wood furniture, and all stylishly furnished for storage.

Outside

The mature gardens of Villa Furore are full of native flowering plants and established trees providing shade as well as privacy. The salt water swimming pool is large with integral steps, and surrounded by ample terracing and poolside furniture for curling up and reading a book, or watching the kids splash in the blue water. The terracotta covered terrace is a lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine in the warm evenings, or enjoy a noisy meal with the family. The villa has a barbecue for traditional alfresco dining, and there is a large lawn for the little ones to run around on.

Additional Information

Maid service and towel change twice a week, linen change once per week. The washing machine is for maid use only.

Villa Furore is located in the stylish residential area north of the Meridian/Penina golf resort in the Serra E Mar area, close to the coastal town of Alvor. The ancient coastal town of Alvor is approximately 15 minutes by car, and the place where you will find most local shops and restaurants.

Alvor was originally a charming fishing village which has blossomed in recent years into a popular resort with all ages. Its quaint narrow streets are reminiscent of a bygone era, and now a place where bars and restaurants hum with lazy life. There is a long open sandy beach which is popular with families as the sand gently shelves into the clear blue sea, but there are also a number of interesting coves and inlets tucked under the cliffs for those seeking a little more privacy.

Possibly founded by the Carthaginians, Alvor was an important Roman port. Most of the original village and castle were destoroyed during the earthquakes of 1532 and 1755, and the only building to survive is the beautiful 16th century parish church with its fine doorway.

Nearby, the commercial town of Portimao is a good place to go shopping, and is especially well known for good quality low cost shoes and leather goods. Continente mall there has several shops, a hypermarket, food hall and cinema complex. The popular beaches of Praia da Rocha and Praia da Vau are also within a short drive

Those who enjoy a round of golf will be pleased to know that the nearest golf course is only 5km away. Penina course was originally paddy fields and is the grandfather of courses in the Algarve, designed by Henry Cotton.

There are a number of activities for children to enjoy along the coastline, including the biggest open air water park in Europe. Aqualand is a half an hour drive, or Slide and Splash is located at Estobar, east of Lagoa and well signposted on the EN125. Tours operate out of Portimao, if the children would enjoy a dolphin spotting trip, and the Omega Wildlife Conservation Park is near Monchique – a half hour drive to see animals in the freedom of their natural habitat.
