Villa Jamie enjoys an ideal location for those wanting to be within walking distance of local amenities. The local beach is a mere 200m away at Matagorda, and it is only a short walk (800m) to a selection of local bars, shops and restaurants. The centre of Puerto del Carmen, with its larger selection of eateries, pubs and clubs is a short drive, 4.5km and offers the wide selection of activities that you would expect from an established resort.

Puerto del Carmen has a selection of lively bars, restaurants and shopping facilities along its famous ‘Avenida’. The old town, with its quaint harbour, cobbled streets and tapas bars is laid back and peaceful, in direct contrast to the bustling bars and international restaurants of the more cosmopolitan tourist area. Take a ride in a glass bottomed boat or enjoy a boat excursion around the coast starting from the harbour area. Alternatively, a varied range of water sports and many other activities are available in the resort.
The capital city of Arrecife is only a short drive from Matagorda and is an interesting place to visit. The city’s San Jose Fortress, now a modern art gallery, overlooks the harbour where you can watch the cruise ships come in to dock at the main port.
Coach, foot and even camel tours can be arranged to see the incredible natural land features of the Timanfaya National Park. Situated in the west of the island, the Timanfaya National Park has 50 square kilometres of barren volcanic landscape, shaped by past volcanic activity on the island. The last eruption on the island took place in 1824 and created vast new craters, entombing whole villages and acres of fertile terrain. At the Islote de Hilario you can see the artificial geysers that spring up from a magma chamber 3km below ground when cold water is poured into a hole. Another intriguing site in this area is a lagoon, known as El Golfo, whose waters seem to glow emerald green.

Ground Floor

The comfortable accommodation has every modern convenience for a home-away-from home holiday. The open plan living/dining room has a comfortable sofa and armchair, as well as a dining table and four chairs for your party. The room comes equipped with a television which has some satellite channels and a DVD player. The room is kept bright and airy by large patio doors which lead out onto the pool terrace, and the terracotta tiles keep the interior cool underfoot.
The separate kitchen has a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and is modern and fitted with wall tiles.
There are two twin bedrooms which share the separate bathroom, and a double bedroom with ensuite.

Outside

Villa Jamie is set in an elevated position overlooking the sea and the sandy Matagorda beach is only 200m away. The villa has its own private pool which is rectangular with ladder access (5m x 2.5m x 1.4-1.6m deep), which is surrounded by terracotta terracing, with wooden sun-loungers and parasols. There is a covered area of terrace which has outdoor dining furniture, and the villa is equipped with an iron barbecue. The pool terrace is private and secluded, but has iron railings giving views across the resort.
