Villa Joanna is located in Addaia, 2km from Port d’Addaia on the north east coast. Just 2km away is Port d’Addaia, which has a selection of shops, bars and restaraurants. The nearest sandy beach is the beautiful Arenal d’en Castell, one of the islands main resort areas. Son Parc Golf, a picturesque 18-hole championship course, is 8km away.

Addaia is a small development of villas on the edge of a deep, narrow and beautiful inlet. A natural basin makes it ideal for yachts and there is a small port offering diving and fishing expeditions. The nearest beach resort is Arenal de'n Castell, located around a beautiful semi-circular cove. Here, thick pine forests give way to gently sloping sands and azure waters. However, the beach shelves steeply once in the water. Families with younger children usually stay at the eastern end of the beach, where the water is shallower and safer for little ones to bathe in. Along the beach are sunloungers for hire, as well as a selection of bars and cafes. Those seeking adventure can find an array of water sports available, including wind surfing, water skiing and jet skiing.
Of course, Menorca is a small island. Take a drive around the countryside and you’ll find gently rolling hills, lush pastures, and mile upon mile of low stone walls. Sleepy whitewashed villages, hidden sandy coves, fascinating ruins and friendly people are all within easy reach. Only 20km away is the vibrant capital city Mahon. Mahon offers a wide range of retail outlets, bars, cafes, and restaurants. There is also lively nightlife to be enjoyed when the sun goes down. To the west of town is the historical port, where you can spend hours watching the ships and admiring the view. Historians will find many buildings of historic interest, the oldest relic being the Arch de San Roque, the only surviving remains of the fourteenth century wall that circled the town.

Approach

Amidst green fields, a road leads you through a small development of holiday homes. From the street you turn onto a paved driveway. The villa is a pretty, two-storey house, with traditional white walls, wooden shutters, terraced balcony, and terracotta roof tiles.

Ground Floor

The front door opens into an entrance hall. Turning right, you enter the open-plan living and dining area. This fresh, spacious living area is air-conditioned, offering a cool respite from the midday sun. The large corner sofa is easily big enough for the whole family to gather together on, either to play a game of cards or surf the satellite TV channels. Patio doors open out onto the pool terrace – handy if you need to keep an eye on children in the pool. On the far side of the room is the dining area, which seats six. From here, a patio door slides open to a shaded dining terrace with garden furniture and stone barbeque.

The spacious, fully-equipped kitchen is across the hallway. With a wooden breakfast table and plenty of counter space, the kitchen also has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, dish washer and washing machine.

First Floor

Upstairs are the four bedrooms, all comfortably furnished with cosy beds and fitted wardrobes. The double room is at the front of the house, and has an en suite bathroom. Both the double room and adjacent twin room enjoy access to the first-floor balcony - a lovely spot to step out and greet the morning sunshine. Guests in the three bedrooms share the use of a separate bathroom with sophisticated dark tiles and a luxurious corner bath. There is also a separate shower room.

Outside

The living patio doors lead out to the pool terrace, dotted with brightly-flowering pot plants. The rectangular pool has corner steps leading gently into the water, for easy access. Neat green hedges surround the pool terrace and villa to give a feeling of privacy.
To the side of the villa, beneath wide archways, is the covered dining terrace. With garden furniture and stone barbeque, you can enjoy al fresco poolside dining in the warm evening air. From the side of the house, an external staircase leads up to the roof terrace, which offers sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.
