Ground Floor

The villa has an entrance hall with double doors leading to a very light and spacious open-plan living area with triple patio doors to the garden. The room has comfortable leather sofas, a fireplace and a ceiling fan to keep things cool during the heat of the day. It has a range of entertainment systems including a wall-mounted flat screen television with some satellite channels, a DVD player and a CD radio cassette. The dining area is furnished with a large table and wicker dining chairs.

The kitchen has fitted units and modern appliances including an oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is a small corner table with seating for two and a door leading to the garden. The washing machine is housed in an exterior cupboard beside the barbecue.

There are two ground floor bedrooms, both with twin beds, which share a separate family bathroom.

First Floor

Stairs lead to a furnished landing which has an unusual stained glass window and a door leading to a first floor terrace with lovely views. Exterior steps take you down from here to the garden.

There are two double bedrooms on this floor, one overlooking the pool terrace and the other with views across the garden. Each room has an en suite bathroom with a bath/overbath shower, WC and washbasin.

Outside

The villa stands within enclosed gardens with a gated entrance, bordered by walls and hedges. There is a large sun terrace surrounding the swimming pool, with sun-loungers and patio furniture as well as a barbecue area with built-in barbecue and sink. There is also an outdoor shower. Steps lead up from the barbecue area to a raised terrace with glorious sea views.

There is a further garden area on the other side of the villa, adjacent to the living room. Steps lead from here to the first floor terrace.

Villa Jolie is situated in its own grounds above the bustling resort of Carvoeiro. The village centre and beach are approximately 2km from the villa, whilst there are two restaurants and a mini-market closer still. The nearest golf course is Vale do Milho, also around 2km away, with a choice of other courses within a short drive.

Carvoeiro was once a quiet fishing village but has blossomed into a popular holiday resort in recent years. The streets are lined with cafes, bars and restaurants with market stalls selling handicrafts, ceramics and souvenirs in the cobbled old part of town. Fishermen still land their catches at the harbour and you can try fresh seafood at many of the local restaurants. Nightlife is fairly laid back, based mainly around the family-friendly restaurants in the resort, but there are a couple of clubs and sports bars which stay open until late.

The coastline is quite rugged and the beaches tend to be nestled in little coves backed by high cliffs. Boat excursions are a good way to see the incredible rock formations and grottoes at Algar Seco and there are many hidden coves that you will not be able to reach on foot. The main beaches have plenty of opportunities during the summer months for those keen on watersports, including windsurfing, sailing, water ski-ing and snorkelling.

The Vale de Milho golf course is a friendly par-3 course with 9 holes. There are three further golf courses in and around Carvoeiro, and the Carvoeiro tennis club has ten tennis courts for hire, some of which are floodlit. Rocha Brava Tennis Club has four courts. For families with children, there is a water park called the ‘Slide and Splash’ around 6km away at Lagoa and also the Aqualand Water Park at Alcntarilha which has plenty of slides, rapids and flumes providing fun and excitement. At Guia, near Albufeira, there is Zoomarine, an ocean theme park set amongst lakes and gardens. Algarve shopping, also at Guia, is a huge shopping mall with over one hundred shops, a hypermarket, bowling alley and multi-screen cinema showing films in English.

Actually, all of the above. We enjoyed the peace and quiet during the day but were only a short walk/taxi ride away from a great selection of bars and resturants.Our party varied in ages(20-54) and everyone enjoyed their holiday. The quality of the resturants was high and we felt good value for money having recently been in spain which we found expensive. This area is a good base for further exploration.

The villa was in a wonderful location with superb views. It was peaceful, clean, spacious, very private and had everything you could possibly need to make your holiday fantastic.

The area is perfect for a quiet family holiday. There are plenty of good restaurants to choose from. The Supermarche was excellent and stock everything you could need. There is a great waterpark nearby, which my boys thoroughly enjoyed. Relaxing, wonderful holiday.
