The villa is on two levels with the bedrooms being on the ground floor, all with access to the pool garden. The main living accommodation is upstairs to make the most of the great views across to the Atlantic.

Ground Floor

The villa has three individually furnished twin bedrooms, all having access via patio doors to the pool garden. The bedrooms are decorated in a traditional style and are pleasantly cool and airy. One room has an en suite bathroom and the other two share a family bathroom which has a bath and overhead shower, WC and washbasin

First Floor

Upstairs, you will find a comfortable sitting room which is equipped with a television offering some satellite channels. A sofa and easy chairs are grouped around a central coffee table and large rug, with table lamps and a fireplace giving the room a cosy feel. There is a separate dining room with seating for six and a small but well-equipped kitchen which has a hob, oven, fridge/freezer and washing machine.

Outside

All the bedrooms lead out to the garden which has a lawned area screened by trees. The free-form pool is surrounded by an attractive cobbled sun terrace with a shrub and hedge border.

Additional Information

Towels and linen included with maid service five times per week. Pool heating and telephone available for extra charge.

Location

Situated in the popular residential area of Luz Parque, Casa Katarina is ideally located for a family beach holiday with Praia da Luz and local shops and restaurants just a short distance away. Luz is is a family resort with excellent facilities and water sports available including windsurfing, waterskiing and diving. The village itself has plenty of Portuguese charm with winding cobbled streets and old white-washed houses. There are a number of good places to dine in the resort, including the old fortress which has been converted into an impressive restaurant.

The nearest beach is Praia da Luz meaning ‘Beach of Light’. The large bay here is extremely popular with families as the beach is sandy and gently sloping with a lifeguard in high season and good facilities including several beachside bars. Meia Praia is one of the longest beaches in the Algarve and has 4km of white sand, lined with bars and restaurants, stretching from Lagos to Alvor. Salema, to the west towards Sagres, is a small unspoilt fishing village with a less busy white sandy beach backed by cliffs.

The historic city of Lagos is around 15 minutes away by car, and offers a wide range of shopping and nightlife. There is a good selection of restaurants and shops along the pedestrianised main street and the lovely Praca da Republica main square has numerous bars and cafes where you can sit with a cold drink and watch the street entertainers performing. Fishermen still operate from the harbour although there is also a trendy marina. You can browse around the little boutiques selling souvenirs from jewellery to leather goods and wickerwork, or visit various interesting buildings such as the governor’s castle and the Church of Sebastian.
