Located just 50m from the shore of the Mediterranean, Villa Lilian is a modern single storey villa built in a traditional style which offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for up to six people. Outside, the free-form pool is surrounded by sun terraces and a variety of trees and shrubs.

Approach

The villa is approached by a gated road from the coast. The low rise one-storey villa sits unobtrusively amongst the palm trees of its own private gardens and has a glorious view to the sea. The next door property, Villa Lola, is also available to rent for a larger party or for two families.

Ground Floor

Inside, the wood flooring, white painted walls and pale curtains create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The comfortable living room has two large sofas set on either side of a handsome stone fireplace and there are additional armchairs to accommodate a crowd. The dining room, with its glass top table and seating for six, overlooks the sea which lends itself to interesting dinner conversation. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped and has the convenience of a microwave, washing machine and dishwasher.

The villa’s theme of wood flooring and cool white walls continue through into the three bright and airy ground floor bedrooms which are all furnished in pine. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and there is a separate bathroom for the remaining double and twin rooms.

Outside

The curved sided swimming pool is the main feature of the gardens and is surrounded by paved and shingled sun terraces furnished with sun loungers and a thatched parasol. There is also outdoor lighting so you can take advantage of the warm night air and enjoy a late evening drink or meal beside the pool. Numerous trees and shrubs including palm trees adorn the garden area, providing welcome shade during the heat of the midday sun and the sea is just 50m away.

Location

Villa Lilian is located 50m from the coast along a gated road which leads to one other property. You may not feel the need to move too far from the pool, but the nearest beach is only 1km away at the village of Sa Rapita, a small town of low rise buildings where you will also find a selection of local shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Popular with windsurfers, the beach here has a couple of bars and plenty of parasols to hire.

A few minutes drive along the coast is Es Trenc, a spectacular 4km long white sandy beach which connects the hamlet of Ses Covetes with the harbour town of Colonia de Sant Yordi. Es Trenc is a truly beautiful place to spend a relaxing day by the sea, but the protected dunes are also a haven for birds so nature lovers may spot marsh harriers, kestrels, spotted crakes and hooper swans to name but a few.

The early morning ferry from Colonia de Sant Yordi, formerly an agricultural and fishing colony, will take you on a day trip to Cabrera – literally meaning ‘goat island’- but you will probably need to book this in advance at the small kiosk near the harbour. This tiny rocky island, just 7km by 5km was designated a National Park in 1991 and has no commercial development so make sure you take a picnic! Its chequered history has seen it inhabited by pirates and used as a prisoner of war camp in the Napoleonic wars.

12km north of Sant Yordi is the town of Campos di Puerto with it restored Renaissance town hall and sixteenth century church. There is also a farmers’ market and the bakery shop is reputedly the best on the whole island of Mallorca.
