Villa Estrella is situated just 800m away from local shops and restaurants, and is a short drive from the beach at Cala en Bosch’s resort centre. Cala en Bosch is a lively and cosmopolitan resort and has a good selection of shops restaurants and bars as well as a wonderful sandy beach where you can sunbathe or take part in a variety of water sports. The Cap d’Artrutx marina has become very chic and is a popular place to linger with a drink, watching the yachts and boats come and go. A lighthouse, just of the coast and dating back to 1859, marks the most western point of the island. Take the mini train from Cala en Bosch to the quieter neighbouring resort of Son Xoriguer where you can learn to wind surf, sail or scuba dive at its water sports centre. Banana boat ride and pedaloes are also available, or you can try snorkelling in the clear blue water of the Mediterranean.

Just 12km from the villa is the historical capital of the island, Ciutadella, with its picturesque harbour and quaint cobbled streets. Although Mahon is now the capital of Menorca, Ciutadella is still considered to be the cultural and religious centre of the island and is an interesting place to visit with its diverse architecture reflecting the tastes of past invaders. The twisting narrow alleyways of the old town, bustling streets and beautiful town square offer traditional shops, museums and a variety of cafes and restaurants to suit everyone.

The south western coastline is very beautiful with dramatic cliffs, scented pine woods and glorious sandy beaches nestled at the back of coves and inlets. The countryside is very popular with walkers but there is also plenty to see on a drive along the coast, with lots of opportunities to stop if a particular beach catches your eye. There are numerous ancient monuments to explore here such as Cap de Penyes at Cales Coves near Mahon which consists of an astonishing labyrinth of prehistoric chambers and caves. Rock monoliths, prehistoric watchtowers and ancient burial chambers can be found all over the island.

The capital city of Mahon is 60 kilometres away, and has been built on the edge of the world’s second deepest natural harbour. The port here is the heart of the city and streams endlessly with cargo ships and sea-bound vessels. Mahon is the focal point for trade to and from Menorca, and is steeped in culture and history, local tradition complementing the inevitable commercialisation. Lively evening entertainment, including a selection of live music venues, centres around the harbour which is a great place to be at night.

Ground Floor

This family holiday villa is furnished comfortably but simply with tiled floors and white walls throughout, giving the accommodation a light and airy feel. The open plan living/dining area has seating set around a coffee table and television, which has some satellite channels and a DVD player. At the other end of this room is a dining table with seating for four. The kitchen is well-equipped and has a microwave and washing machine.

The villas two bedroom, both on the ground floor, are bright and comfortable. The first is a spacious double room with a double bed and pine furniture. The second bedroom has twin beds separated by a bedside table. The bathroom has a bath, WC and washbasin.

Outside

Patio doors lead from the villa to a pleasant covered terrace which is set with outdoor dining furniture and also has a built-in barbecue to one side, ideal for cooking al fresco meals.

The villa has a private pool with integral steps and is flanked by a sun terrace on one side, with a palm-shaded lawn on the other. The terrace is equipped with sun-loungers and umbrellas so that you can relax in comfort.
