Ground Floor

From the shaded veranda of Villa Martina, the main door leads straight into the large living/dining room which is traditionally decorated with Majorcan style furnishings. The comfortable living end is furnished with sofas and armchairs gathered around a tapered white chimney breast containing and open fireplace. The room has a satellite television, which has a selection of channels, a Playstation games console and a DVD player. At the opposite end of this long room is a large rectangular wooden table which has seating for six people. The white-washed walls complement the wooden beamed ceilings and warm terracotta tiles underfoot and give you a sense of comfort and relaxation.

Through a door at the living room end, you will find the kitchen. Another large, delightful room, the kitchen has a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and microwave. There is a dining area with another large table and seating for six, where you can gather for those early morning meals. The room also has beamed ceilings and a delightful Majorcan dresser. A further door leads to the garage which is used as a laundry area.

Another door from the living area will lead you to one of the villa’s two bedrooms. There is a dark wood double bed and accompanying bedroom furniture and next to this room is a full separate bathroom.

First Floor

Upstairs there is a further spacious twin bedroom with a low, beamed ceiling and comfortable seating.

Outside

Outside the villa’s own private pool has integral steps for easy access and is set in paved terracing, and poolside furniture lines the edge of the water. There are sun loungers for those who enjoy sunbathing and parasols for those who prefer the shade. Villa Martina has fabulous outdoor dining equipment, including a large barbecue and outdoor food preparation area. The long covered terrace has wooden garden furniture for dining outdoors in the warm summer evenings, and is ideally placed to enjoy the spectacular views of the pool and the surrounding Majorcan countryside. The secluded location of the villa is perfect for those who enjoy the peace and quiet of the country and there are beautiful views of the Tramuntana mountains in the distance.

Although Villa Martina is essentially a countryside villa, it is ideally situated within easy reach of the beautiful old town of Pollensa (1.5km) with its winding cobbled streets and open air cafes. This quaint Majorcan town has a selection of restaurants and shops to choose from, branching away from the central square of Placa Major, which is filled with market stalls on Sunday mornings, selling local crafts and colourful fresh fruit and flowers. Surrounding and sheltering the town are the foothills of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains providing opportunities for hiking and walking.
The local beach is to be found at Puerto Pollensa, only 4.5km from Villa Martina. This busy family resort has a beautiful white sandy beach in a sweeping horseshoe bay. The beach has calm clear waters and the sand gently shelves into the sea, making it a popular location with families with children. It also offers a variety of water sports, and has good beachside facilities including cafes and sunbeds/parasols. There are also a number of secluded sandy coves along this area of the coastline for those who prefer something a little more low key.

The evenings are Puerto Pollensa are usually spent enjoying one of the resort’s many good restaurants, or frequenting one of the many bars. Many people enjoy a stroll along the tree lined Palm Walk, the promenade which stretches from the marina to the beach, past the luxury yachts and colourful fishing boats moored there.

Close to Pollensa is the Albufereta Nature Reserve, covering 150 hectares with canals, lakes and reed beds; protected homes to a wide variety of birds. This peaceful location is about 10km south of Pollensa town. There are a number of other attractions scattered around the island. From world-class golf courses, tennis courts and horse riding, to wine-tasting and thrilling water sports, there’s something for all the family.
