Villa Mary has a peaceful location in a quiet residential part of Javea, less than 2km from the bustling Arenal beach area. There are supermarkets and restaurants within easy reach, with three restaurants within walking distance and a larger choice just a short drive away. The historic centre and Javea’s lively port are around 3.5km from the villa.

Javea (also known as Xabia) is a lovely coastal town sandwiched between the capes of San Antonio and La Nao and midway between the Spanish cities of Alicante and Valencia. Easily accessible via motorway from the airports of both cities, the area is renowned for its warm summers and mild winters and attracts holidaymakers throughout the year. Frequented by smugglers and pirates during the Middles Ages, the caves and bays along the coast are now popular with snorkellers, sunbathers and scuba divers. Granadella and La Barraca are particularly popular with snorkellers and have beach bar facilities. The region has something to appeal to everyone, from quaint traditional villages and sandy beaches to large coastal towns with excellent shopping and dining.

The Arenal area of Javea is has plenty on offer during the summer months. The bay here has a golden sandy beach which slopes gently into the sea and is edged with bars, shops and restaurants and ice cream parlours. There are plenty of water sports on offer such as sailing, fishing and water ski-ing in the bay. The area is very family-friendly has good facilities including toilets and showers. In the evenings, you can take a stroll along the promenade and watch the street artists performing, buy souvenirs at the craft stalls set up along the seafront or enjoy the live music which fills the air.

The old town has a maze of narrow streets lined with historical townhouses and beautiful squares. There is also an excellent indoor market selling fresh produce including fruit, cheeses and locally caught fish. There are lots of reasonably priced restaurants here, not to mention the traditional tapas bars and art galleries – a great place to explore during the heat of the afternoon. The port area has plenty of restaurants and snack bars where you can linger with a cold drink and watch the fishermen bring in their catch.

The area has excellent golfing facilities, the nearest golf course, Javea Golf, being a short drive away towards Benitachell. There is a clubhouse and restaurant, two putting greens, tennis courts and a swimming pool with a children’s paddling area. There are also a variety of other places offering activities such as horse riding, tennis, football, basketball and bowling. Benidorm, around a 45 minute drive away, has plenty of family entertainment including a theme park and a large water park.

For those who enjoy exploring, the Montgo natural park is a beautiful mountainous area just to the north of Javea. The highest peak is 753m high and is a fantastic vantage point for viewing the spectacular coastline.

Approach

This charming villa is set in a quiet residential area less than 2km from Arenal Beach. It has lockable double entrance gates at the front of the house and has a fully enclosed rear garden which is screened from neighbouring properties by mature boundary hedges.

Ground Floor

The villa has a stylish and modern interior providing comfortable and well equipped accommodation for your villa holiday in the sun. The lovely L-shaped living/dining room has two air conditioning units and is decorated in cool white with exposed ceiling beams. There are comfortable sofas arranged around a coffee table with a television offering a selection of satellite channels and a DVD player in one corner. The room also has a fireplace, a window seat below two pretty arched windows and double ‘stable’ doors opening to a covered dining terrace overlooking the pool garden. A white rectangular dining table with six matching chairs is set in an alcove to one side of the living area.

There is a large arched opening to the kitchen which has fully fitted white units and pale worktops. It is well-equipped with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer and microwave. The dishwasher and washing machine are housed in a separate utility room.

The villa has three comfortable and pleasantly furnished bedrooms, all fitted with air-conditioning units. The master bedroom has twin beds made up as a double and has the benefit of an en suite bathroom with bath and overbath shower, WC and washbasin. There are two twin rooms sharing the use of a separate shower room.

Outside

The villa has fully enclosed and gated grounds with an open, south-facing aspect. There are areas of lawn to both sides of the pool with mature hedges providing privacy from neighbouring properties. The gardens are planted with trees and pretty shrubs giving some natural shade and plenty of lush Mediterranean greenery.

Just outside the living room is a covered dining terrace which is furnished with a large dining table and six chairs. Beyond this is a paved sun terrace and barbecue area equipped with recliners for relaxing in the warm sunshine or under the shade of a parasol. The pool is a few steps away from the villa and has a Roman end with integral steps.
