Villa Melanie is located in Cala Llonga, just 4km from the capital, Mahon. An eight-minute drive takes you around the port to the town centre, where you’ll find a wide selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. The nearest beach is just 300m downhill from the villa. Alternatively a short drive will bring you to the beach at Cala Mesquida (4km away) which has a popular seafood restaurant. The nearest golf course is Son Parc, 25km away on the north east coast.
Cala Llonga lies to the north side of Mahon harbour. One of the most exclusive areas in Menorca, it lays claim to some of the most impressive homes on the island. With its rugged coastline and waterfront location, Cala Llonga is ideal for sailing enthusiasts. For other water sports head 20km north to Arenal en Castell, where water skiing, wind surfing, jet skiing and other activities are all on offer.
Only 4km away is the vibrant capital city Mahon. Mahon offers a wide range of retail outlets, bars, cafes, and restaurants. There is also lively nightlife to be enjoyed when the sun goes down. To the west of town is the historical port, where you can spend hours watching the ships and admiring the view. Historians will find many buildings of historic interest, the oldest relic being the Arch de San Roque, the only surviving remains of the fourteenth century wall that circled the town.

Approach

The villa is set on sloping grounds with views of a beautiful inlet and ocean beyond. There is garage parking to the rear of the house, and gardens to the front.

First Floor

The front door opens to an entrance hall on the first floor. On the left is the stylish, spacious living and dining room, with a dining table to seat six and a comfortable living area. Here you’ll find sofas, a wall-mounted flat screen TV, DVD player and CD stereo – perfect for keeping the children out of the midday sun. From here, patio doors lead out to a shaded balcony terrace with stunning views of the deep inlet leading to Mahon Harbour. The terrace is spacious enough to accommodate a dining table for six people, and there is a separate staircase down to the pool deck.

Inside, a doorway leads from the dining area to the modern kitchen. Fully equipped, the kitchen includes a breakfast table, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. The washing machine is in the utility room, accessed through the garage. There is also a guest cloakroom off the entrance hall.

Ground Floor

On the ground floor is a hallway leading to the bedrooms. The three twin bedrooms are at the front of the house. All have doors onto the pool deck, making it easy to enjoy a swim first thing in the morning. There is also an attractive double room. The bedrooms share a full bathroom and a shower room, which has a double-size shower.

Outside

Villa Melanie has an elevated pool deck with stunning views of the ocean. From here, you can watch the boats slowly gliding through the deep inlet to the Port of Mahon. The pool deck has an L-shaped pool with integral steps and plenty of places to stretch out in the sun. Under the shade of the first-floor balcony is a restful seating area, with comfy cushioned seating. From the first-floor balcony, steps lead up to a spacious roof terrace which offers even better sea views.
From the pool deck, steps lead down to lush, private gardens. Stepping-stone paving leads you across the well-kept lawns to a lovely dining pergola. On the left is a mature tree casting welcoming shade beneath its leafy boughs – perfect for restful holiday reading. At the end of the garden is a paved barbeque area with a built-in barbeque, handy preparation surfaces, and storage cupboards. This barbeque area makes it easy to prepare family meals fresh on the grill. Al fresco dining is made even more appealing by the tranquil sounds of a garden water feature. The garden is surrounded by a rugged green field, filled with leafy bushes and trees for peaceful privacy.
