Villa Walkthrough
This spacious, L-shaped villa is on one level with the bedrooms in a wing to the left and the open-plan living accommodation on the right.
Ground Floor
Double front doors open into the small entrance hall, which adjoins the large open-plan living area. Doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms are found from a central hallway on the left. The villa has white walls, square tiled floors and high, sloping wooden beamed ceilings throughout. These features help to keep the villa at a cool temperature during the summer heat, and the bedrooms have air-conditioning for especially warm evenings.
The light and comfortable open-plan living area has a cosy corner sitting area with a large corner sofa and coffee table. On a wall there are shelves and a cabinet holding the satellite TV, CD Stereo and Playstation 2. There’s plenty to keep the kids amused and out of the midday sun for half an hour.
To the left is a smart dining area with a large wooden table and eight chairs, a tall glass cabinet and a side cabinet below a mirror. An open doorway takes you through to the kitchen with breakfast table and chairs, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen has two sets of doors opening on to the pool terrace where there is a shaded outdoor dining veranda. Adjacent to the kitchen is a small utility room.
Villa Melissa has four good-sized bedrooms at one end of the house. The master double bedroom has a pretty wooden-framed double bed, bedside cabinets with small reading lamps and its own en-suite shower room. It also has a small armchair and a sideboard with a large framed mirror. Wooden doors inset with large panels of glass open out on to the sunny pool terrace and gardens.
There is another double bedroom which has doors opening to the gardens at the front of the villa, and shares an adjacent full bathroom with the bedroom opposite. This bedroom is furnished with twin beds and has doors opening onto the sun-filled pool terrace. The fourth and final bedroom has twin beds, doors opening to the front of the villa and its own en-suite shower room.
Outside
This villa has a unique barbecue kitchen, which is part of the main building but also feels part of the garden as it has large folding doors opening onto the pool terrace. A doorway leads into here from the living/dining room. As well as an oven, fridge/freezer and tiled sink area, this room has a large, open, brick fireplace and a table and chairs. After preparing a mountain of food here in the shade, you can walk onto the terrace and place it onto the sizzling hot barbecue.
The gardens at Villa Melissa overlook gorgeous views of the neighbouring open fields full of olive trees, to the faraway layers of blue/grey mountains.
On the large pool terrace is a covered outdoor dining area where you can enjoy a long, lazy lunch in the shade. The private rectangular pool has integral steps that lead you gently into the sparkling blue water. Green lawns lie to either side of the pool, where there are sunloungers to relax in the warm sunshine.

Location
Villa Melissa is set in peaceful, open countryside, well back from the winding country road that runs between Pollensa and Alcudia. The l-shaped design completely screens the pool area and terrace from the road.
The quaint old town of Pollensa, with many restaurants, cafes and shops is only 2.9km away. On Sunday, the main café-lined square of Placa Major is filled with market stalls selling local crafts and colourful fresh fruit and flowers. A nice stroll around Pollensa will lead you up winding narrow streets that date back to the 18th Century. Surrounding and sheltering the town are the foothills of the Sierra de Tramuntana, providing unforgettable views – and, for the more adventurous, opportunities for walking and hiking.
The beach at Puerto Pollensa, 5km away has warm, shallow waters, ideal for families with small children. It offers a selection of water sports, and facilities such as beachside cafes and sunbeds/parasols. However, there are also a number of small coves in the surrounding area for those who want more peace and seclusion.
The bay of Pollensa is home to an array of luxury yachts, as well as colourful local fishing boats. In the evening, take a stroll along the Pine Walk promenade, a pedestrian walkway overhung by palms and fragrant pines. This stretches from the marina to the beach, past luxury villas and apartments.
Within the Pollensa region is the Albufereta Nature Reserve, covering 150 hectares with canals, lakes and reed beds; protected homes to a wide variety of birds. This peaceful location is about 10km away.
There are a number of attractions scattered around the island. From world-class golf courses, tennis courts and horse riding, to wine-tasting and thrilling water sports, there’s something for all the family.
