There are also chartered boat tours allowing you to explore the many coves and secluded beaches along the meandering coastline.
Maó, or Mahon as it is also known, is the island’s capital city and is 50 kilometres from Cala’n Blanes on the eastern side of Menorca. This city has world’s second deepest natural harbour, and a boat tour is a good way to explore the surrounding area. The historical port bustles with ships and yachts, creating a wonderful backdrop if you stop for a coffee in one of the cafes overlooking the harbour. There are plenty of places of interest throughout Mahon and you will see buildings of architectural and historical importance as you stroll around the city. If you are looking for evening entertainment, Mahon has an excellent selection of lively bars and restaurants, most of these being found near the main port.
