Location
This delightful holiday villa is situated in a quiet cul de sac in the popular residential area of Los Mojones above Puerto del Carmen. The quaint old town is around a ten minute to fifteen minute walk downhill from the villa and has a picturesque harbour where you can watch the fishermen bring in their catch or dine in one of the fish restaurants overlooking the sea. The atmosphere in the old town is laid back and friendly, with traditional tapas bars lining the cobbled streets.
Ten minutes further on is the lively main promenade or ‘Avenida’ which runs alongside the beach and has a huge variety of bars, shops, international restaurants and amusements. The award-winning Playa Grande beach is sandy and gently sloping making it popular with families. You can hire parasols and sun-loungers here, or explore some of the other rocky coves which are dotted around the coastline if you would prefer something more private. There are several windsurfing and diving schools in Puerto del Carmen offering equipment hire and lessons, as the coastline offers the perfect conditions for both these sports. Swimming, running and cycling are also popular in resort, with several bike hire companies along the promenade.
The resort offers plenty of opportunities for retail therapy and has a range of excellent shops. Souvenir shops line the Avenida or you can browse an array of local crafts and up-market luxury good at the Biosfera shopping centre.
Also nearby is the incredible National Park of Timanfya, a 50km square area whose landscape has been shaped by past volcanic activity on the island, the most recent eruption being nearly two centuries ago. Various tours are offered in the park, including a camel ride if you are feeling adventurous, and you can enjoy a meal cooked over natural geothermal heat at the El Diablo restaurant.

Ground Floor
Villa Nova is attractively furnished and has tiled flooring and pale walls creating a cool and airy feel. The entrance takes you through to a galleried dining area which has a large wooden table and chairs, with steps leading down to a charming living area. Large sofas are positioned around a rug and coffee table facing the rustic fireplace and a low wooden TV unit houses the television which has some satellite channels and also a DVD player and CD player. Wide patio doors let in plenty of light and allow you to see the pool garden from the seating area.
The villa has a spacious fitted kitchen with a convenient breakfast bar and doors to the terrace. The kitchen has a dishwasher and microwave, with a washing machine, iron and ironing board being located in a basement utility room.
A large twin bedroom with tiled flooring has the use of a separate shower room with shower, WC and washbasin and the other two bedrooms lead off a hallway. The light and spacious master bedroom, with its lovely wooden floor, has a walk-in wardrobe and doors opening directly onto the terrace. It also benefits from a stylish en-suite bathroom which offers the luxury of a corner bath, double handbasins set in a pine vanity unit, a WC, bidet and a shower cubicle. The third bedroom, also furnished with a double bed, has tiles underfoot and an en-suite shower.
Outside
Doors open from the villa onto a lovely pergola terrace area, which has smart dining furniture to seat six and a built-in barbecue for easy outdoor meals. The free-form pool (acclimatised during winter months) has integral steps and is surrounded by a sunny terrace equipped with sun-loungers and a convenient outdoor shower. The villa is set in its own private garden planted with a variety of trees and shrubs and has views of the Atlantic and surrounding mountains. The property benefits from off-street parking.
