Villa Palma

Villa Palma is conveniently situated in the popular resort of Cala Galdana on the south-west coast of Menorca and is ideal for families looking for a relaxing holiday by the sea with all amenities close to hand. The lovely Cala Galdana bay is referred to locally as ‘the queen of the coves’, where sheltered turquoise waters lap the white sandy beach against a backdrop of limestone cliffs, covered in natural vegetation. You can walk from the villa to the nearest restaurant just 200 metres away, and the beach and a local supermarket are within an easy stroll across flat terrain. The beach has plenty of attractions to keep everyone amused, with snorkelling, scuba diving, various water sports, and sunbathing on offer. Alternatively, you can hire bikes and cycle or simply explore the coastal paths on foot. There are also chartered boat tours allowing you to explore the many coves and secluded beaches along the meandering coastline.
Around 7km northwards is the town of Ferreries which is the highest town in Menorca, overlooked by s’Enlusa, the island’s second highest mountain. 150 metres above sea level, the town is an ideal starting point for those wishing to embark on a hike up s’Enlusa, or to explore the surrounding countryside. The town itself is very quiet, although there is a market held by farmers every Tuesday and Friday with plenty of local produce on sale.
The historic town of Ciutadella, 22 kmnorth-west of Cala Galdana, was once the capital of Minorca before it was moved to Mahon, and is still considered the religious centre of the island. Ciutadella reflects the architectural influences of the many nations who have captured and conquered the island throughout its history and has a colourful mixture of heritage, culture and activity. The town is a maze of narrow streets and larger avenues, with traditional shops and cosmopolitan cafes, bars, restaurants and museums, offering something for everyone.
Mahon is 35 km to the east, and is home to the world’s second deepest natural harbour. Boat charters from here are the best way to tour the area and learn about some of its fascinating history at the same time. The busy harbour is very scenic and a great place to linger and watch the world go by. There are many interesting buildings and ruins within the city, places of architectural and historical importance, and several museums detailing the island’s long and celebrated history. The city itself offers a wide range of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, and comes to life at night. The harbour has the largest concentration of busy clubs and bars there are a number of live music venues.
