Approach

This villa is spacious and welcoming, with stylish decoration and is fully equipped to make your villa holiday an enjoyable one.

Ground Floor

There is a reception area leading to the living space, which has white walls and terracotta tiled floors keeping things cool underfoot in the summer heat. The cosy corner fireplace has a wood burning stove which is comforting in the cooler months. A striped sofa and armchairs are arranged in front of the fireplace and there is a central coffee table and television with some satellite channels. Patio doors open to a small dining terrace at the back of the villa.

Through a door is the homely, country-style kitchen with rows of painted wooden units, and a wooden breakfast table. The kitchen is equipped with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Steps lead down from here into a circular dining room, which has a pretty octagonal dining table and four chairs. A door opens from here onto the garden. There is also a separate cloakroom with WC and washbasin.

There are three steps up to the bedroom area. The bedrooms are simply but stylishly furnished. The master has twin beds and patio doors leading to the gardens which are surrounded by vineyards. The second bedroom is similarly furnished and both rooms share the use of a separate full bathroom.

Outside

The lush green gardens of Villa Rainha feature large areas of green lawns that blend seamlessly into the surrounding coutryside. Doors open from the living room onto a walled terrace adjoining the villa. Here, there is a garden table, chairs and a barbecue – ideal for those lazy dinners in the twilight of the setting sun. Two small steps lead from the terrace down a path at the side of the villa. Terracotta paving and small white borders surround the oval shaped pool. The gardens are bordered by white rendered walls, mature shrubs and tall trees. The leaves of a large palm hang over the poolside, providing dappled shade and the leaves rustle in the breeze. In the gardens of Villa Rainha, you can relax in the warm sunshine in privacy and tranquility.

Minimum 7 night stay, but shorter stays may be possible – please call our Reservations team for assistance. Maid service is included, with linen and towel change. The maid operates the washing machine on behalf of clients.

Location

Villa Rainha is in the Caramujeira are which is well known for its wine making. The villa is surrounded by glorious lush green vineyards, and it enjoys and peaceful and tranquil location in the heart of the Algarve countryside. However, it is ideally situated close to the coast, and is only 3km away from the glorious beach of Praia do Marinha. Marinha is a long sandy beach backed by cliffs that is often overlooked as there is very little development nearby. It is busier on Sundays when the Portuguese arrive, but during the week is peaceful. There is a beach bar here in peak season. The nearest restaurant is only 800m away from the villa, and the centre of Carvoeiro, the local resort, is only a short 5km drive.

Carvoeiro is a small fishing village which has grown into a blossoming resort in recent years, but has managed to retain its original charm. The harbour still sends out colourful fishing boats each day and the catches find their way into the fine fish restaurants of the town. Praia do Carvoeiro is a pleasant beach sheltered by cliffs which is very popular in high season. For those who would prefer more privacy, there are a number of small coves dotted along the shoreline here.

The beach is lined with restaurants and bars and has a good selection of both to choose from. If you travel further into the cobbled streets of the old town, you will find shops selling traditional handicrafts and market stalls heaving with locally produced goods.
