Villa Ruth is ideally located for a villa holiday in the sun, within easy reach of the Old Town harbour and just a five minute walk away from the main beachfront and Avenida with its shops, bars and restaurants. There is also an excellent shopping mall nearby. The picturesque Old Town area has an array of fish restaurants around the harbour and has a laid back and friendly atmosphere with traditional tapas bars lining the cobbled streets.

Puerto del Carmen’s main promenade or ‘Avenida’ runs alongside the beach for several kilometres and has a huge variety of bars, shops, international restaurants and amusements. The Avenida is a great place for a gentle evening stroll but is also used by joggers and cyclists, with several places offering bike hire if you are feeling energetic. The resort’s main beach is the award winning Playa Grande which is very popular with families as it is sandy and gently sloping with excellent facilities. The coastline a little further on has numerous rocky coves to explore if you want to get away from the crowds. You can try a variety of water sports from the local beaches, with wind surfing and scuba diving being particularly popular activities.

The Biosfera shopping centre sells a selection of luxury goods but there are also plenty of shops available along the Avenida if you are looking for souvenirs to take home. You will also find a wide range of restaurants catering for all tastes from fast food to fine cuisine and of course, the clubs and bars are open until the early hours for those wanting to dance the night away.

Also nearby is the incredible National Park of Timanfya, a 50km square area whose landscape has been shaped by past volcanic activity on the island, the most recent eruption being nearly two centuries ago. Various tours are offered in the park, including a camel ride if you are feeling adventurous, and you can enjoy a meal cooked over natural geothermal heat at the El Diablo restaurant.

Ground Floor

Each apartment has a comfortable open plan living room equipped with a satellite television (limited channels) and a DVD player. The rooms all have good quality soft furnishings and are nicely decorated with pale walls and tiled floors, keeping things cool underfoot. There is a dining table with seating for four and patio doors. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped with an oven and hob and a fridge/freezer and all apartments share the use of a communal washing machine and drying area.

There are two pleasant bedrooms in each apartment, each furnished with twin beds which can be made into a double if required. There is a large separate shower room with a shower, WC and twin washbasins.

Outside

The first floor apartments have a balcony with views across to the Atlantic whereas the ground floor apartments open onto a covered terrace beside the pool garden. There is a lovely shared solar heated saltwater pool which has a shallow children’s section. The pool is bordered by a sun terrace with plenty of sun-loungers and a barbecue provided.
