This delightful villa is situated just a two minute walk from the sea, in a smart, landscaped cul-de-sac consisting of seven villas in the hamlet of Chloraka between Paphos and Coral Bay. There is a local restaurant within a five minute walk, and there is also a corner shop about 15 minutes’ walk away. The popular Coral Bay Beach is less than 10 minutes away by car, as is the city of Paphos in the opposite direction, with its lovely old town, harbour and selection of shop, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Paphos International Airport is around a half hour drive from the villa.
Coral Bay is considered by many to be the best beach on the island, with long stretches of gently sloping golden sand and clear, turquoise water. The streets approaching Coral Bay are lined with shops and restaurants, with a number of beachside tavernas providing refreshments. This beach can become busy in the height of summer but is well-maintained and clean.
Other attractions for families include a games centre, children’s playground and karting at Coral Bay or the Aphrodite water park at nearby Paphos. Hiking is very popular in the spectacular Troodos mountains, around an hour’s drive from the villa - the mountain air is generally cooler although the sun will still be very strong. Water sports are available at all the main seaside resorts in high season, with activities such as jet skiing, diving and boat excursions on offer. There are 3 excellent golf courses in the region, all within a half hour drive of the villa.
The city of Paphos has a harbour and castle attracting visitors all year round. There is an array of seafront fish restaurants and tavernas overlooking the colourful fishing boats bobbing gently on the water. Paphos is famous for its Pafitka fabric which can be purchased locally as well as a range of other handicrafts and gifts including pottery and lace. For those who enjoy a little culture, the famous Paphos Mosaics near Paphos harbour are well worth a visit. These astonishing Roman relics were discovered by accident in the 1960’s, when further excavation revealed preserved Roman houses with mosaics depicting scenes from ancient mythology.
